A Card – Ranger style

This by far is one of my favorite cards ever. i had so much fun making it. I found the technique over at Ranger while trying to figure out how to use my perfect pearls which i have had squirreled away for a rainy day!! (and man we have had enough of them this year!)

So just as instructed by Tim i applied various distress inks to my craft sheet, sprayed with my mini mister til it was all bubbly (about 5 sprays) and then placed my tag (a little larger than a tag as it is made for the front of my card but for now we will call it a tag okay!!) into the inks. I lift it dried and then repeated in the spots that didn’t get originally covered. Once finished i ran the tag through my Big Kick using the Distressed Frame embossing folder and then used walnut ink distress stain and covered the highlight areas. love how it turned out.
next i used the Perfect Pearls powder and coloured my flowers and leaves attached them with a brad, finished off the edge of my tag with a bit of Archival Ink and attached it to the front of the card.
My next step was to get out my Mover and Shaper Mini Butterfly set and cut out one of the butterflies into a piece of ‘metal’. I then used a couple of alcohol inks and coloured my butterfly along with a strip of metal to place at the bottom of my card. I attached the butterfly with some glossy accents, added a bit of wire for the antenna’s and there.. a birthday card suitable for a very special person!!!

I am entering this card into the Gingersnap challenge, Colour of Money. i guess i am lucky to be living in Canada for a lot of reasons but one being our money is very very colourful!! If you get a chance pop on over to Gingersnaps and see what everyone else has created!

til next time…

HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!
