a window box book!

hello everyone!! today I am here to share with you a fun little project I created for the Emerald Creek Dares challenge!

ECC Blog Header

i started by cutting out one of Eileen Hulls’ window box dies in black and then just the window portion in white.  i then used some kraft core paper which i ran through my vagabond using this brick die to which i added direct to paper some distress inks. for the white I used Emerald Creeks cardstock.. a very nice smooth finish on this which is perfect for my window frame EH Window box

as you can see i cut out some of the ‘bricks’ and painted those areas using shabby shutters crackle paint. I was loving how it was turning out!

I then started working on my book and because I had  used Eileen’s 3D die , i was able to make my window into a box to hold my scary book!!

EH mini bookthis mini was so easy to whip together using Eileen’s passport book die  and the 6×6 paperstash from Tim Holtz. it is all ready to add some photos of little (or big) ghouls!

my window box is filled with tim’s fall foliage leaves and do you see what is planted in there amongst them!! I LOVE the skulls from Emerald Creek!! they were a last minute add to my order and i am so glad I did…. kind of spooky plants no!! LOL

speaking of spooky!! isn’t the effect cool. I simply added some embossing ink and burnt copper leaves embossing powder… I am in love with this stuff…seriously!!

and here you have it my spooky window box!

This box is incredibly spooky with that eye peering through the window! and I think I am in love with those skulls and the Burnt Copper Leaves embossing powder, too! They are on my wish list, thanks to you! This is an amazing work of art, and your crackle is spectacular!
