Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #43 – mid month in believe

hello everyone!

so can you believe it is already the middle of December…holy moly crazy right! Christmas is right around the corner!!!

i wanted to share with you today a quick little project i have created for the mid month prompt for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge

here is our badge that you need to use in your posting if you are playing along

No automatic alt text available.

remember at the first of the month i created a box top to hold a special project…. well this is the cover to the book of that special project i have been working on.

i started out by covering it with platinum crackle paste and then i pressed into that while it was still wet various pieces of chipboard from Boozybear

i love squishing my chipboard into wet paste

i added a bit of extra grit paste to the mix, then left it to dry

i love how it looks the next day

then it was time to add bits of colour.. or lots of bits of colour

now i wanted to age it but i also wanted to keep with the same colour theme as the cover to my box. so i started out by adding some Walnut Ink sprays in varying colours along with some DecoArt sprays.

i just kept adding and taking and spraying water and well made a few layers of wetness and then i had to set it aside to dry

once it was dry i added a few little words and a bit of spray. here you have my final piece/cover of a special book

i want this book to be a special place for special moments….. now to start adding them

thanks for stopping by. don’t forget to join in on the fun and create something for the Mixed Media Challenge. all the details can be found HERE (https://mixedmediamc NULL.blogspot NULL.html).

until next time my friends,

I am a loose woman…..

hello everyone!!
I bet that title grabbed your attention didn’t it!!! LOL…

today i am here to share with you a special project i created for the blog hop that is/has been happening this week between Emerald Creek and StencilGirlTalk.. today is day three so i sure hope you have been hopping along!

I was approached by Kim, the owner of Emerald Creek Designs, in March of this year asking me to take part in her December blog hop.. now that is planning ahead right!!  i adore Kim and didn’t hesitate in the least to say heck yes i am in!!!

so let us get started on what I created using the stencils along with some oxide ink!!

first thing I did was I started out by inking three separate panels flowing the colours from warm to cool

next I laid my stencils down and added some depth to my panels

then using some texture paste sprinkled with embossing powder I added my images.

once the images were dry I zapped it with my heat tool to heat set the embossing powder!

now it was time to break out those little bits of quarry from Emerald Creek. I just knew these would be the perfect accent to this piece.

I basically laid a heavy layer of gel medium to my imagines, added some pieces of quarry and set it aside to dry! how simple is that

and here you have, some close ups, of my finished piece!

and the final show …

it is a free standing tri-fold that sits on a special someones desk

now seeing as this is a blog hop you just have to know there is a prize package for one lucky winner right!!!

and what might it be you ask!!!!

Eileen Hull Christmas Journal

hello everyone!

today i am here to quickly share with you a so easy to put together project to keep those quick little snap shots for the season

as much as i really want to do a December Daily i just know it is not something i will keep up so this is the perfect solution (for me!)

so i started by die cutting my journal out of some chipboard. i then die cut another couple of pieces from a new line of paper from Kaisercraft.. i fell in love with the vintage look.

i then began gathering some old, and i mean old and i discovered easy to tear journal pages from an old book gifted to me. i started adding pieces of Christmas paper here and there and i also roughed up the edges of the papers and on some even added some ink

i then cut a few pieces to embellish my pages preparing for pictures that i really hope to take this Christmas season

now all i need to do is take along my little instax camera and i should be good to go and document!!

are you documenting your Christmas season!! if so do share it with us over at Eileen Hull Design’s Facebook (http://eileen%20hull%20fan%20club/) group. we love seeing what folks are creating!

until next time friends,

TCW – Christmas Project

hello everyone!

today i am here to share with you a quick project i created to decorate my desk using one of the new stencil releases from The Crafter’s Workshop

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

so i stared out by applying some Dylusion paints in three shades of blue to my canvas.

once it was dry i laid down my snowflake stencil and using spread in a thinnish layer some Shimmery Goodness. i absolutely love how this stuff dries clear and iridescent but added a shimmer all at the same time!!!

now it was time to build my snowman which i built using some paper leather sheets. i absolutely love the durability of these little sheets!

for the buttons on my snowman i took and idea that my friend shared with me regarding drilling holes to make buttons!! how clever is she!!!!  i then just kept building my snowman and for my final step i die cut some snowflake and pop dotted those along with ‘wish’ and a chit chat sticker.. told you it was a quick and easy project!!!!

here are a couple of close ups for you to enjoy!

Remember, we would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
You can share it with us on our Facebook page (https://www NULL.facebook (https://www NULL.instagram,  Twitter (https://twitter, and Pinterest (https://www NULL.pinterest by using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #43 – believe

hello everyone!!

can you believe it is December already!! holy this year sure has flown

let’s get to this month’s challenge. i fell in love with the badge for this months challenge and i had so many ideas that i didn’t even know where to start

No automatic alt text available.

until i opened up my package from this months collaborator, Boozybear.blogspot (https://www NULL.etsy i saw the scribble frame… i knew exactly what i wanted to ‘Believe’

they have the most unique chipboard shapes and stencils to inspire your mixed media projects. i am thinking i may have to put in an order or two… and one of my favourite things … they are Canadian made!!

i (https://scontent NULL.fyqm1-1 NULL.fna NULL.fbcdn NULL.0-9/24296642_10212682427470184_7950849166791946909_n NULL.jpg?oh=998ce495aaeff2a25f6fdbf0b31533b2&oe=5ACCE0CD) started out my project using a box i had obtained containing my all new favourite face products Roden & Fields.. it was a perfect box i just couldn’t throw out. i stared by covering the top with a think layer of clear gesso.

once that was dry i used a stencil and some crackle paste to cover the top of my box except where my frame was going. this i had covered with a piece of paper

while it was still wet i sprinkled on a few embossing powder and then set it aside to dry.

now it was time to put into play my idea using the scribble frame. i embossed one with white embossing powder and the other with the enchanted gold embossing powder… my sun and moon

i then needed to decide how to finish off the top of my box. i painted a used frame of sorts and coloured my stones using metallic alcohol inks

now it was time for assembly. i placed everything on top of my box and then mixed up a couple batches of ice resin and filled first a layer inside the frame, added the word believe and then i spread it out to the edges of my box…

once it was all dry i added a couple of butterflies and here you have my completed project which will hold a special book

this is a picture of me on the morning of my 50th… my wish was to go to be in a place to witness the sunset on my 49th and the sunrise on my 50th… so in this picture, in this moment in my life i literally felt the moon on my back and the sun on my face… this box is going to hold some special moments in my life….. more on that later this month!!!

thanks for stopping by. don’t forget to join in on the fun and create something for the Mixed Media Challenge. all the details can be found HERE (https://mixedmediamc NULL.blogspot NULL.html).
