TCW- art journalling- don’t regret

hello everyone!

today i am here to share with you an art journal page i created using a lot of different The Crafter’s Workshop stencils. This is another one of those pages where you doodle, stop, take a boo and then doodle some more.  to me a page isn’t finished  until i apply the quote.  so let’s see the process i went through to create this page

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

i wanted to use this mixed media tape on my page so chose a couple of stencils and paints and started

now this was a good place to start..coloured mixed media tape and a mop up page (though the one shown is not the one i used)

but the green one in the background of this picture is the one i used. the top one will be in a future post!

i then started working on building layers on my background. i layered many many times and stencils before i got to this point.

my main focal point/stencil used for this page was the Stencil Screen Print. it has so many different patterns on it and if you mix and match the large stencil and small stencil with paints you have endless layers on your page. i love that.

i just had to share this picture with you…. while i was creating and lost in the process my friend snapped this picture of me. this is truly me in my element….enjoying the process and just being….

at this point i had used various stencils and paints to layer and layer this page….. after i was done doodling a little bit i decided i needed one main focal point and chose the dragon fly from that stencil

i then inked the outside of it with my white gel pen and using my black stabilo pencil i outlined my media tape

now it was just time to add a quote…… typically when i see a dragonfly i see it as a message from another so i added what i felt an appropriate quote , a fine back ground stamp and that is what finished my page….

Remember, we would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
You can share it with us on our Facebook page (https://www NULL.facebook (https://www NULL.instagram,  Twitter (https://twitter, and Pinterest (https://www NULL.pinterest by using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Eileen Hull book club tutorial – trinket book

hello everyone!

today is all about showing you the tutorial for the trinket book from the new Eileen Hull release – book club collection

One word that sums up the new Sizzix Book Club collection is VERSATILE!
Eileen is happy to introduce new Three-in-One Dies – dies that serve multiple purposes to fit into every area of your life.

There are three new ScoreBoards dies for sturdy project bases and three die sets to embellish them. Each die may be used in many ways – on books, cards, gift boxes, home decor projects, and for storage and organization.

Imagine a die that can create a box, a book and a frame all on one die – we have that! Come explore the Book Club collection with the Inspiration Team and let us know which one is your favorite! Releasing this fall…

by far one of my favourite releases in a while.. so much potential!!! love this die!

so let’s get started.   i stared out by covering the back of my pattern paper with adhesive and then die cut to layer on top of my mat board pieces
next it was time to shape the book with all the papers adhered

then it was time to finish my design. i knew i wanted to be a piece of reflection/moments and that is about it.  so i inked up the little bits using distress inks and markers

i then, using clear embossing ink, heat embossed these little babies!

i then coloured my vignette finial set using black soot distress paint and once dried i used vintage photo ink.. absolutely love the before and after

then it was just a matter of assembling… and because i became so involved in that process… well i forgot to take photos!!  but basically added a tree, coloured a few little blocks using distress paint, and added a couple of chit chat stickers and a star to my tree.

and the final picture outside

and inside

hope you have enjoyed seeing how i have created this project and that you have or are taking the time to stop by Eileen’s blog to see what my fellow inspiration team members are up to!!!

until next time my friends,

Unsung Hero with Emerald Creek & altered pages!

hello everyone!!

i am here today to share with you a project i created for Emerald Creek in partnership with Altered Pages

so i knew as soon as i seen the artful nudes and fairy wings they would become the focus piece of my art journal page. here are few of the step outs for you to see my process

i started out by fussy cutting the two main pieces and then i cut out a skirt for my nude.

once it was cut to fit my artful nude lady i covered it with some Art Anthology Sorbet in various colours to match my lady

i then set that piece aside to dry and started working on my background page. i applied some sorbet through my TCW stencil

and then i carefully used the Kimilise stamp and and various shades of StazOn ink to edge my piece

next once everything was dry i used some heavy gel medium and some of the quarry bits and added a touch of crystal to my piece to which i infused with lots of reiki love

then it was just a matter of adding a few final touches to my fairy lady.. who i happen to believe is one of many unsung heroes who have come before us. They paved the way for us today.

and so here you have my finished piece after adding a few butterflies and some stitching

i think she is absolutely the coolest thing… love the attitude on her face!!

i had a lot of fun creating this project. i hope you have enjoyed and that you too are taking time to create. you can find a link to most of the products used below!

Although these companies have provided me with some product to create this project the opinions I share are solely my own.

so i stared out playing once again with watercolour paper but this time i started with a sheet that i had used for a clean up from another project.

i cut a circle to cover the centre and then i stared adding Color burst in the various colours.

can you see where i used bits of the torn card in the corners.. they were the inspiration for the colours to go where.

so it was just a matter of adding colour, spraying with water and heating until i was happy with the colour.

then it was time to add some stamps. today i am using The Ripple Effect stamp set from Visible images and i used all three in the set.  firstly i stamped in the back ground with water. you can see the ghosting of the stamped image below

and then i stamped with some archival inks both top and bottom

as you can see i also added some chit chat stickers and i used my stabilo pencil to shadow my large circle

and here you have my final piece.

i love how the silhouette of the white circle  contrasts with the colour on the outside……this is a piece i will display for a while in my studio to remind me to ….

be original, be authentic, be fearless and be me bravely.

until next time my friends,

TCW -creating some quick cards

hello everyone!

today i am sharing over on The Crafter’s Workshop page just how quick and easy it is to make a batch of cards!

so let’s get to it!!

first thing to do is to lay down a sheet of watercolour paper and lay various stencils on the papers. then sprinkle various colours of Color Burst

next spray some water to activate

now i am sure you are like me and don’t like to ‘waste’ all this extra goodness so be sure to have an extra sheet of watercolour paper on hand to press on top before lifting the stencils

once both sheets are dry you should have a nice pile of background colours

i am loving all these backgrounds.. now to make them into cards i had cut them up and on the third piece of paper i had used to clean up the stencils i stamped “Thanks’ a few times to attach to this pile of cards.

the final steps in creating my cards was I ran them through my vagabond using some embossing folders to give them a little extra bit of texture.  And here you have them again, my Thanks cards created using a just a few stencils.

The Crafter’s Workshop, Color Burst and Sizzix  provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share here are solely my own.
