hello everyone!!! i wanted to share my news with you all before i show you this months project i created!!!
i was so excited this spring when i had the opportunity to meet Eileen Hull, the designer of those cute multi sized Artist Trading Blocks and then to be asked to join the official design team for The Artist on the Block .. totally over joyed…. NOW i have also joined Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team!!!! BEYOND EXCITED HERE!!! totally honoured to be amongst all the women on both teams!!now onto this months creation!!
i have to start out by confessing i am so not a designer of anything halloween.. i LOVE seeing all the works of art created out there by so many talented folks but i could just never find my grove when attempting to create something ghoulish…. this is my attempt and i have to say i am pleased with the final result
so i started out using a couple of tim’s layering stencils, shattered and harlequin as well as some distress ink and some clear rock candy glitter
and one tim holtz on the fence die
i thought okay.. not too bad but what can i add to this so i kept going… i took out some of my crackle paint and added a coat to a few grungboard pieces (after i was done smelling all the grunge out of them!!! )
i had also cut out two branch tree bigz dies and started colouring them with some dusty concord distress stain and water…now i felt i was getting somewhere
so now this is getting better..more ghoulish like i think…so i started adding some distress dusty concord stain to my ATB’s….
i loved how the glitter was still glittering through the stain
and yup… i do get right into the creating process..i mean RIGHT IN!!!thank goodness for the craft scrubbie i say!!
loving loving loving the shine!! and sparkle of this rock candy glitter!
i had created a specific background on a 12×12 canvas using some Golden Crackle paste for the sky, some distress stains and a bit of water but kept the ‘moon’ section clear.
this is what it looks like backlit
and this is without!
i loved how this turned out!! the skulls, the bones, the complete package!!
and this is what it looks like from above!!! Oh how this picture makes me laugh!!!!! like really really laugh!!!
