today i am sharing with you my first journal i created using one of Eileen Hull’s newest releases, journal (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661906/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-journal)
now this is a game changer for sure. there are simply so many possibilities for this one single die. i can see one for travel, one for birthday’s, one for an exercise journal, one for quote collections, etc
i created it by painting the outside of the covers using a variety of metallic and acrylic paints and added a few stamps and that is how quick and simply fast it was.
then it was time to decorate the inside. for that i cut out pieces of paper, which i folded to make two pages. at the start of each month
here is a quick video of a flip through for you:
and here are some still shots
i hope you have stopped by Eileen’s blog (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com)and checked out the links to the other inspiration team’s projects!! there are some mighty fine ones there each week for you to take a boo at!
have you been checking out the creations by the inspiration team over on Eileen’s blog. this month we are showcasing the heartfelt collection; Eileen’s newest release for 2017! today i am back to show you a couple of other journals
i started this one by die cutting the journal (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661906/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-journal) out of paper leather (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661151/sizzix-paper-leather-sheets-8-1-2-x-11-white-10-pack) and then running it through my vagabond using the daisy wreath (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661423/sizzix-textured-impressions-embossing-folder-daisy-wreath)embossing folder and some sizzix ink sheets (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/660542/sizzix-inksheets-4-x-6-transfer-film-5-assorted-sheets). it is the perfect quiet touch to the front of a treasured journal.
next i stitched using some really old thread the house pocket (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661902/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-9pk-house-pocket-stitchlits)
then using a really strong glue i glued it to the front of the journal and the bits to the front of the house
then using a small stamp set i created some tables for my book. i also used some tissue take to tap the edges
once the tabs were completed and before they were put in place in inked the edges of the journal/title label with some black inknow that is it! pretty simple and fast and a great project to hold those must have recipes from your family and especially thoughtful to create to send to those who are leaving the nest!!
today i am here to share with you another one of my projects for this release… this one i used felt as well. i am absolutely loving creating with it.. i need to source myself some more!
i hand stitched these stitchy flowers and leaf (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661903/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-13pk-stitchy-flowers-leaf)to the front to the art journal (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661906/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-journal) using some antique thread. i also added a bit of cheese cloth to the centre button
on the front of the journal, after die cutting the ‘you are my sunshine’ onto a piece of scrap paper i decided i wanted it outlined on my journal and then decided that i liked the idea of stitching….. it is funny how things change when we are creating isn’t it!! what we think we want takes all kinds of turns until it is finished. that is the part of the process i like! when it came time to bind my journal i decided to try using some wire and my twist and style tool!! this makes creating wire bits so easy!!!! i absolutely love these flowers die-cut from felt!!! the ink in the background gives my stitching the depth i loved!
to hid the stitching i die cut another journal cover, covered it with some creative tape and then pressed my felt cover to the front!
and then all that was left to do was to add some papers inside and then that quick and easy i have a journal that will possible hold positive quotes i come across through out my day, month year….
what have you been creating lately! if it is using one of Eileen’s dies (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=eileen+hull&p=1) we would love to see it. share it with us on Eileen’s Facebook page (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/eileenhulldesigns/)..
speaking of sharing, i hope you have had the chance to check out what the rest of the inspiration team has been sharing with you all this month!
i am just jumping in here really quickly to share with you all some sneak peaks of some projects i have created for Eileen Hull (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com)
this is the front of my favourite die this year !!
as well as this one. i have to admit i had a really hard time sending this one off. i filled it with lots of time and energy and it is so me! this one is holding a special treasure … meaningful things to share…
and this is another version of the first two and will be sure to be filled with ‘home’i am so excited about this set of new releases from Eileen and i can’t wait until you see what she has and for you to get your hands on them!!
Eileen drives around 2,500 miles to the venue each year, along with her beautiful 1960’s camper van called Scotty. this years adventure was just that. she ran into some of the nastiest weather … brave lady. i sure couldn’t of done it… so if you happen to be at the event being held in Phoenix this year, do stop by and give her a hug and a pat for Scotty for me!!!
this is Scotty at CHA in 2016 all set up in the Make and Take area… i snagged this photo from a fellow inspiration team member!
i hope you have enjoyed the sneak peaks. i just have to say i am so honoured to be able to be a part of this new release and of this team. Eileen designs beautiful products, Amy Bowerman keeps us all on task as our design team co-ordinator and my fellow inspiration team are amazing….. i am a very very lucky girl!
This month, the Eileen Hull (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/) Inspiration Team is sharing our projects using Eileen’s cool new Twist and Style tool from Sizzix. i have to tell you that what you have seen so far is truly just the tip of the iceberg what can be done with it using all sorts of different matters from wire to twine, yarn to string.
so for my project here we go!!!
i basically started with putting some paint onto some felt with my brayer
once i ‘THOUGHT’ my felt was dry i ran it through my vagabond.. and came up with this beauty!!
so being one who doesn’t like to waste i layered some more felt between my painted felt to absorb all that goodness
see!! much better with catching that waste !!then i was just a matter of putting my flowers onto the stems i created using the twist and style tool
then i weaved and glued them the side of a wreath
and then weaved a ‘welcome’ and here is my finished project for this month!!
how fun is that!!
i hope you get a chance to check out all the other wonderful creations over at Eileen Hull Designs!
