and now I think I have it… except for a few changes…
and now here you have the completed set (and look no ink!!)
hello everyone! i can’t believe where this month has gone…
well today i am here to show you a project that i guess perhaps may look like a pretty simple one (and it is!) but a very layered one
now this paper they said could take a lot of medium and not soak through the other side. as an art journaler, well i need the proof so off i went
i dug out some of my decoArt media paints to create my rainbow of colour background
then by running some thicker foam through my big kick using Eileen Hull’s Heart and Soul flowers die (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661108/sizzix-bigz-die-flower-heart-soul) i so happily ended up with a wonderful set of flower stamps!! love that one can do that with any die!
i then stamped using some white paint onto my Rendr paper pad
next was just adding random bits of colour onto my page. when doing so i used some water(okay lots of water) to spread the paint further.. remember i am testing this paper!!
then i dug out some positive quote stamps and archival ink
i was quite happy where this was going.. next it was taking a stencil and adding even more paint and some sprays
loved all the different layers i have been creating. wanted to give it a little more so added a layer of black
now it was just a matter of finishing it up. i had thought about using it for a background for a scrapbook page then decided that i liked it as an art journal page but then thought it would be perfect to cover a piece of mat board to make an Artist Trading Block or cut it up totally and use it to make some flowers….. decisions…
so for now i have decided to leave it as is with bits of doodling!!!
thanks so much for dropping by today!!!
hello everyone!! isn’t it hard to believe Christmas is only a couple days away!! where oh where has this year gone!!
The theme for the December Art with Heart Challenge is “Favorite Things (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/12/december-art-with-heart-challenge-favorite-things NULL.html)“.
well who doesn’t hear Julie Andrews singing in the Sound of Music every time ‘these are a few of my favourite things’
to start the whole process i cut from mat board an xl block/cube die (http://www NULL.inspirationemporium NULL.com/658983 NULL.HTML)and using Eileen’s heart & label (http://www NULL.inspirationemporium NULL.com/658052 NULL.HTML), i cut the label out of the centre of one and the end of the other. this would allow me to view inside the mirrored box and place a tealight underneath the block. to cover my tea light i used the Cookie box die and just cut it down to size to fit around the tealight!
so for my project i decided i would include some of my favourite things from the last year with a hint of Julie’s song
the ATB is by far one of my favourite things. (brown paper packages all tied up with string)
my reindeer die (pretend it is a cream coloured pony!)
Distress glitter; the new vintage one…. i am not a glitter girl but how can one resist this colour!!! ( bright copper kettles)
the snowflake charms hanging inside of the mirrored box..(snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes)..
the ring of feathers around the base representing snow and angels (silver white winters that melt into springs)
i am one of those freaks that loves snow.. mind you if it stayed off the roads and my driveway i would be even happier (LOL).
and so you have a glimpse into my favourite things..and my favourite movie too … now here is the full picture
that is it from me for today!! i hope you take some time over the next little while and head on over to Eileen’s blog (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/) and check out all the favourite things projects that my teammates have created all month long to inspire you!!
and i really hope you take a moment and link up one of your favourite things projects in our Art With Heart Challenge. as always Eileen has a great give away lined up and i would love it if you win!!!

You hello everyone!! i am here today to show you my creations for the Art with Heart Challenge this month; Hauntings and Holidays
if you follow me at all you know i absolutely LOVE the smell and look of their papers but am terrified and so challenged on what i am to do with them. i asked my fellow design team members and their suggestion ; which I followed, was ‘fussy cutting’
so i knew where to start…..
I am so not a fussy cutter but oh am I glad I did it!! I had the absolute best time layering and creating this beautiful piece of paper into a 3D creation…. now what to do with it.. and how do I incorporate that into my Eileen Hull challenge….
I tried to figure out what I could do to give justice to this beautiful line of paper along with mixing it up and creating with Eileen’s dies….
the first thing I thought of was an ATB….but one ATB wasn’t going to cut it.. do I create a few of them and puzzle piece this together????
i was thinking…
so I dug through my supplies and I found a Graphic45 8×8 Matchbook (http://www NULL.g45papers NULL.com/products/graphic-45-staples-category/8x8-matchbook-box)box that I had purchased a while back and figured you know what.. i bet those little ATB’s should fit in here just fine…..
so off I was creating and measuring. first i glued the Graphic45 paper to the mat board and because i was using the mini ATB i wanted to measure and cut strips.
after running them through the vagabond (i did this 50 times as i was creating 25 containers) i applied wonder tape to both ends of one and one end of the other to create the mini boxes
i managed to fit all 25 of those little boxes into the Matchbook box (with a little squeeze here and there) and as I was doing so it hit me exactly what I was going to do with this!! so that is when i added the little bits and pieces of idea-ology to the tops and a bit of ribbon and look what was created!
an advent calendar for ME!!! how much fun is that!!
I am in love with this piece and can’t wait to have it filled for me. I don’t get to enjoy bought calendars as they for the most part are either cheap chocolate or contain gluten… so this is PERFECT!!
Hope you have been creating and sharing with us all for your chance to win !!
this months Art with Heart (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/09/art-with-heart-challenge-september-favorite-fall-things NULL.html)theme for the Eileen Hull Inspiration team is Favorite Fall things and look what you have a chance of winning this month!!!
one of my favorite things for fall is it is time to start teaching my regular art journaling class again. I truly miss the ladies and love getting together and catching up with them and their lives. it fills my heart!!
so for this week I am showing you a very quick project I created to use during this months art journaling class using the Simple Stories ‘I am’ (http://www NULL.simplestories NULL.com/products/i-am)line!
Eileen’s ATB’s are the perfect little containers for so many things and one of my favorite things to do is recycle… do you see the ‘handle’.. well it is from a chitchat package that I had taken apart for a class but just couldn’t throw it away.. today I am glad I didn’t. it worked perfect!
as promised.. a quick post!!
hope you are taking the time to craft!!
me, well i am off to teach a group of wonderful ladies Art with Heart today!
