today I am jumping in here quickly just to show you how fast and easy it is to put a couple of cards together using Sizzix dies and festive papers
so for this first card I cut the large oval out of the stitched oval (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661188/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-pk-stitched-ovals)set, backed it with a bit of festive paper and die cut Eileen’s banners from the banners and pennants set (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/660329/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-8pk-banners-pennants)…all that was left was to add the word Peace from the vintage tidings (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661605/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-3pk-vintage-tidings)set
and then I used the oval that was left from the first card, added the tree from the woodlands thinlit (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/RESERVE-Tim-Holtz-Sizzix-WOODLANDS-Thinlits-Die-660978-660978TH?currency=USD)die and a simple chit chat sticker (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Idea-ology-SEASONAL-CHITCHAT-Stickers-TH93050-47066)…
see what I mean.. simple and fast! I might add a piece of twine down the side of this one!
so I believe that I may just take a few minutes tonight and cut myself out a few more and then call my cards for the year done!
how about you? have you finished your cards yet!
i am back this week to show you quickly one more card i created this month for the Eileen Hull (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/)Inspiration team’s ‘create cards with Sizzix’ card challenge..
you see TODAY is Eileen Hull’s birthday so i wanted to create a card especially for her!
i used her eyelet lace (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?dir=desc&order=display_start_date&q=eileen+hull)embossing folder and her Pansy (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661109/sizzix-bigz-die-flower-pansy)die along with a couple of spring leaves (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661111/sizzix-bigz-die-leaves-spring)to create this birthday wish for her!!!
when creating the card I simply cut out two pansy flowers, inked them using my favourite distress ink in ground expresso (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/RESERVE-Tim-Holtz-Distress-Mini-Ink-Pad-GROUND-ESPRESSO-Ranger-TDP47353-TDP47353RI)and layered them using a jingle brad (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Idea-ology-JINGLE-BRADS-Fasteners-TH93331-TH93252). I then just die cut out the ‘handwritten birthday’ (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Sizzix-HANDWRITTEN-CELEBRATE-Thinlits-Die-660215-660215TH?currency=USD) sentiment and adding happy and some twine and there you have it!!
hope you have followed along on this months inspiration challenge and checked out the wonderful creations by my fellow teamies!!!
this month the Eileen Hull Inspiration team (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com)is putting together a few cards to offer you some inspiration!! so for today I am here to share with you just how quick and easy you can whip up some cards using just a few Eileen Hull dies (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=eileen+hull) and embossing folders by Sizzix (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com)!
I didn’t do step outs as they are so simple you can just look and recreate.. I will mention which Sizzix dies I used though for each.
so to start I thought I would use Eileens Spring Leave’s (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/Sizzix-LEAVES-SPRING-Bigz-Die-661111--661111SZ?currency=USD) steel rule die and do a simple celebrate fall card but cut one of the leaves upside down but thought hey, let’s go with that !!
sometimes we just need a card to let someone know we are thinking of them so that is where the Hello You card came in and was created simply by using the Garland die (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659871/sizzix-bigz-l-die-garland) die and the Kitchen Labels (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659865/sizzix-framelits-die-set-7pk-labels-kitchen) framelit this would probably be one of my favourite themed cards because it is all about the coffee and was so easy to create using once again the Garland die and two dies from the kitchen collection i also used other thinlits for the words and some chit chat stickers for my cards but that is it for this week! I hope you have had time to drop by and see all the other great cards created by my fellow teamies!!!
here today to just show you a couple of cards i have made over the last little while. as you know i am not really a card maker but when i’m asked to make one by my kid how can i say no really!!! that’s it. short and sweet! just wanted to share how quick and easy it is when using beautiful paper and sizzix to create some cool cards!
this months Art with Heart (http://wp NULL.me/p4e2zP-1s0) for Eileen Hull is all about clean and simple!!! so i am here today to show you a simple 10 minute project you can make using Eileen’s Recipe card Box (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659876/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-box-recipe-card) and Recipe Card (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659870/sizzix-bigz-die-recipe-card-label)dies.
now mind you this was a bit of a challenge for me.. the combination of clean, simple and under 10 minutes (ish!) but it was so much fun to do!! here it goes!!
so i started out by cutting my recipe box out of the Paper House (http://www NULL.paperhouseproductions NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=sapphire) Sapphire collection
but for the recipe card i cut my paper large enough so i could fold it in half and just by placing a bit away from the edge of the steel rule i was able to make a little book!! now for my recipe card holder i used the decorative frame (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/658979/sizzix-movers-shapers-magnetic-die-frame-decorative) movers and shapers die and cut a front section out of my box
i then placed a rub on on a piece of acetate
and then quickly assembled my recipe box using wonder tape…as you can see there is a bit of distress glitter in the window of my box. that was simple created using foam tape and an acetate backing
for the inside of my card i placed another rube on as well as i created a little pocket to hold a gift card or two
so here you have it.. a quick and easy gift card holder to make either when you are on your way out the door as a last minute card or in an assembly line to perhaps hold candy’s for a little give-a-way at a meeting.. so many possibilities!! i decided to show you a quick little video i made that demonstrates just how simple, easy and fast it is to create a project like this on your own using Eileens dies!
here is the holder from the video
and the cards i made after to put inside
i hope you take the time to play along this month and do check out the wonderful projects created by the other design team members
