Art with Heart – clean and simple

hello everyone!
this months Art with Heart (http://wp NULL.me/p4e2zP-1s0) for Eileen Hull is all about clean and simple!!!  so i am here today to show you a  simple 10 minute project you can make using Eileen’s Recipe card Box (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659876/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-box-recipe-card) and Recipe Card (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659870/sizzix-bigz-die-recipe-card-label)dies.

now mind you this was a bit of a challenge for me.. the combination of clean, simple and under 10 minutes (ish!) but it was so much fun to do!! here it goes!!

so i started out by cutting my recipe box out of the Paper House (http://www NULL.paperhouseproductions NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=sapphire) Sapphire collection
Eileen Hull Recipe Box but for the recipe card i cut my paper large enough so i could fold it in half and just by placing a bit away from the edge of the steel rule i was able to make a little book!!IMG_5735 now for my recipe card holder i used the decorative frame (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/658979/sizzix-movers-shapers-magnetic-die-frame-decorative) movers and shapers die and cut a front section out of my boxIMG_5737

i then placed a rub on on a piece of acetateIMG_5738

and then quickly assembled my recipe box using wonder tape…as you can see there is a bit of distress glitter in the window of my box. that was simple created using foam tape and an acetate backing
IMG_5739 for the inside of my card i placed another rube on as well as i created a little pocket to hold a gift card or twoIMG_5741

so here you have it.. a quick and easy gift card holder to make either when you are on your way out the door as a last minute card or in an assembly line to perhaps hold candy’s for a little give-a-way at a meeting.. so many possibilities!!card gift card holderi decided to show you a quick little video i made that demonstrates just how simple, easy and fast it is to create a project like this on your own using Eileens dies!

here is the holder from the video
this is a happy life
and the cards i made after to put inside

i hope you take the time to play along this month and do check out the wonderful projects created by the other design team members

color burst birthday cards

hello everyone!

i am here today to show you a few fast and simple cards you can create with just a few stencils and one piece of water colour paper

Ken Oliver color burst cards

so i started out by selecting 6 of my Stencil Girl club (http://www NULL.stencilgirlproducts NULL.com/stencil-club-february-2016-s/2012 NULL.htm) stencils and placed them on my water colour paper. these cute little stencils are from various exclusive collections from 2014&2015 collections.

Stencil Girl i then took out my ‘warm’ color burst (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/products/?w=color+burst) colours;lemon yellow, yellow ochre, orange, alizarin crimson and merlot…plus a bit of terre verse for the stem….and did a bit of sprinkles  here and there!

color burst cardsadd water and waited for the magic to start!!!

color burst stencil magicbut before i lifted the stencil off this page i added another page on top and then brayered the top sheet onto the stencils using my tool it all (http://www NULL.ellenhutson NULL.com/zutter-tool-it-all/)

tool it alland look at the magic.. i now have lots of backgrounds to chose from

colorburst positives

so now what does one do with all these backgrounds you ask?? well cut them all up and make them into cards i say!!

color burst February cardsthese were the fastest and easiest cards i have ever created i think!!! i made two of them into birthday cards using rub ons from Sizzix and have four more ready to go!!!

and speaking of birthday cards … guess whose birthday it is!!!!!!

MINE!!!!!
