until next time…
hello everyone!! just a quick visit today to show you a couple of pieces I created using ice resin (http://iceresin NULL.com)a while back that i forgot to share
i have a sweet dear friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I hardly ever see her but she is always in my heart and we have such great hugs and conversations when we do meet. she is one of those folks you know will always be there and we can pick up and have lengthy conversations when ever we meet. so when I heard she was diagnosed I wondered what does one do in a case like this.. what would I have to offer her to remind her I am here whenever she needs me….
I turned to creating a piece filled with hope and strength and silent prayers and light but most of all love…..
and i have another friend who was training (and has since completed!!) her first marathon.. i think she is utterly amazing and a great strength to us all who are out there running. she was my first running coach when I joined the running room last june and holds a special place in my heart… she holds that place in so many peoples hearts. she is simply one of a kind… so I created for her a one of a kind piece…love creating special pieces for special ladies.
so it has taken me a while to do a quick, or i hope a quick write up but lot of photo’s, on my weekend spent with Dina and Dyan in Florida, a retreat hosted by Michelle at the filled to the brim Everything Scrapbook & Stamps (http://everythingscrapbook NULL.com) store.
we practically filled on of the Dylusion Journals on the weekend but here are a few of my favourite pages
i also had a lot of fun shopping during the weekend at the retreat store as well as the actually store which was kept open for us to drive over to and shop
and i have wanted some of these stamps FOREVER!!!but one of my favourite projects of the weekend had to be my journal cover. i have never been brave enough to do anything to the covers and now i can not wait to attack them all. it helps that i used Dyan’s new line of paints to do it!!!
now the lovely ladies i was able to meet and play with all weekend;
the lovely and vibrant and oh so sharing Dyan. she opened up parts of our souls that needed spoken too
the oh so funny and talented Dina who made me think about why and how and it is okay to have my page be random but not randommy new friend Caroline who we shared each class and table with. and last but not least, one of my bestest moments of the weekend was meeting the lovely Ms. Marjie Kemper whom i have ‘known’ and followed for a very long time and finally met!!
it was a wonderful weekend of art work which we ended at one of my favourite places ever!!
oh my soul one of the bestest things ever also happened at the very end of the retreat!!! look what Ranger (http://rangerink NULL.com) gave to each of the retreat attendees!! i actually cried i was so excited!!
yes!!!! the wonderful RANGER bag from CHA 2015
it was an awesome weekend… Auntie Carol, Suzanne and I shared so many laughs and giggles and we even had a ‘dress up’ time.. i have a picture but i shan’t share..what happens at the retreat stays at the retreat…but let’s just say a moustache was involved!!
remember when i posted this picture of tim’s eclectic elements (http://timholtz NULL.com/eclectic-elements-fabric-line/) fabric and told you i was working on a special project for a special girl…this is what i was making!!!!!
a special bag, with special fabric for a special girl…
auntie Carol loved it!!!
thanks to the folks at sew4home (http://www NULL.sew4home NULL.com/projects/storage-solutions/eclectic-elements-tim-holtz-coats-time-travel-tote) and the tim holtz team for sharing their wonderful craft with us!!
