Art with a Heart Challenge – go green

hello everyone!!!!

It’s a new month and new theme for the Art with Heart Challenge (http://www NULL.eileenhull This month is all about Going Green.

1484679_10204153235727864_3443497472523219618_nso for my take on this challenge i chose to do the whole recycle portion of ‘green’

i started with cutting the packing I save from my monthly stencil girl stencils shipment. I am in need of a box or a basket you see to hold my hair products all nice and pretty like and I figured why buy when I can make.

so I started of first cutting out 3 sets of the mini album die, which i pieced together into a box after painting the inside black and then taped them together using, oh yes i did, hockey tape!!

IMG_6691 then it was time to decide what / how i was going to decorate it. that is when i decided the Garden Gate Album die and my studio calico paper for many moons ago would come into play.

so after covering mat board with my paper i proceeded to cut out 4 gates plus i cut out 4 sets of the center of the mini album to reinforce the corners of my box

and then i also recut two sets of the mini album just with the studio calico paper for the outside and inside of my box… the black was nice but didn’t really go with the whole cleanness of my box

IMG_6697i am loving how it turned out and it is the perfect size for my products!

Art with Heart Challenge – January

Hello there everyone. Eileen Hull’s January Art with Heart Challenge (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.html) is up and running. We want to see your projects and you could win a new Vintage Kitchen 3-D Oven die!

our theme this month is ‘Fresh Ideas’ and for my project I wanted to create something fresh, new, for a friend of mine.

so i created her this set!!!sewing set

the loaf pan is perfect created into a pin cushion IMG_6125_2the cookie box die was made into a button holder

the centre button and the inside are both from a box of goodies one of my running buddies was giving away. the Singer paper reminds me of my mom and I am sure it will remind her of hers as well

IMG_5960and the window box die i created as a holder for spools of thread or quilt pins

IMG_6121_2the fabric pieces were specifically chosen for my friend… her birthday, her husbands birthday and their anniversary

IMG_6017all pieces were created using distress inks and layers of clear embossing powder. i wanted her to be able to handle them and trust them around her quilts with out worry of the distress ink rubbing off.

there is one more piece to this collection which i will be sharing later on this month.

i hope you like it.. i hope she likes it….  don’t forget to play along with the Art with Heart Challenge (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.jpg)for your chance to own one of Eileen’s dies!

i am also linking up to Inspiration Journal (http://blog NULL.inspirationemporium the challenge over there for the month is ‘Fresh Start’ do join in on the challenges!!
