this months Art with Heart (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/09/art-with-heart-challenge-september-favorite-fall-things NULL.html)theme for the Eileen Hull Inspiration team is Favorite Fall things and look what you have a chance of winning this month!!!
one of my favorite things for fall is it is time to start teaching my regular art journaling class again. I truly miss the ladies and love getting together and catching up with them and their lives. it fills my heart!!
so for this week I am showing you a very quick project I created to use during this months art journaling class using the Simple Stories ‘I am’ (http://www NULL.simplestories NULL.com/products/i-am)line!
Eileen’s ATB’s are the perfect little containers for so many things and one of my favorite things to do is recycle… do you see the ‘handle’.. well it is from a chitchat package that I had taken apart for a class but just couldn’t throw it away.. today I am glad I didn’t. it worked perfect!
inside is all the little messages cut out of this paper and we will each be drawing from this for inspiration!
as promised.. a quick post!!
hope you are taking the time to craft!!
me, well i am off to teach a group of wonderful ladies Art with Heart today!
hello everyone!! i am loving the change in weather… fall is my favourite season i must admit..though i do enjoy the sun and pool of summer…
but back to today. i am here to show you my take on Eileen’s Art with Heart challenge
i was visiting my LSS and the owner was showing me the new line of Bobunny papers she just received from them as samples and i was oohing and aahing over them and she gave me a couple of sheets to play with….
and oh how i played. you see i am not a fussy cutter at all… i prefer using sizzix dies to scissors!! but i just couldn’t resist this paper
here I cut out a lot of the sunflowers, sprayed with water and a bit of gold, crumbled and let dry.. loved these
and then like most projects I get lost in the doing but basically this paper was made perfectly to go with Eileen’s ATB’s!!
so I just started cutting and layering pieces of the BoBunny papers onto my ATB’s and my cookie box (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/product/659874/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-box-cookie)and here is what I ended up creating!!
how fun are these!! they will make the perfect centerpiece for my fall table!!
hope you are taking the time to create and play and checking out the rest of Eileen’s design teams treasures!!
i am here to share a quick little post to wrap up this months Art with Heart Challenge, (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/08/art-with-heart-challenge-august-choose-your-own-theme NULL.html) chose your own theme!
i love my thinlits but somehow seem to lose them!!! so to stop that i decided i needed a little case to put them in so i would know where they were at all ties and how many i should have…
now i do know that Sizzix has cases we can buy to put our thinlits in, and someday i may order myself some, but in the meantime…..
here is what i made!!
absolutely love what an ‘old die’, mat board, velcro and some paper can do!!
hope you have taken the time to create lately! share it with us… we love to see what you have created!
hello everyone!! happy week to you all!!!
i am back again this week to show you another project for the Art with Heart Challenge (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/08/art-with-heart-challenge-august-choose-your-own-theme NULL.html), chose your own theme! the design team are using some old dies mixed with new things to create their own pieces of art!
today i have such a cool little treasure box to share with you all. i started by using Eileen Hulls toolbox die (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/product/660332/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-box-toolbox), one of my favourites and not necessarily old but one of the original ‘must have’ ones from here collection; which i cut out of black mat board.
then it was time to get out my DecoArt media (http://decoart NULL.com/mixedmedia/fluid-acrylics) line and play.
i started by layer a layer of crackle paint onto all pieces. once dry i started adding layers of paint starting with cobalt turquoise
followed by Phthalo Blue and finally to bring it all together, Transparent Red Iron Oxide how yummy is that!! i love how this turned out!!! the crackle, that paint and the black mat board peaking through… makes me very happy
now that is where i got lost in the whole process but here are some pictures of my finished project
the beauty on top of my treasure chest is the fanciful fairy (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/product/660095/sizzix-thinlits-die-fanciful-fairy) by Peter Hughes for Sizzix. i cut two opposites out and glued them together to sit on top of the box. i had though of trying to make her into a mermaid but she is so perfect just the way she is! such detail on her skirt and wings! i treasured my vacation and the marvellous project i created to hold my treasured seaglass
hope you are creating!
guess what time of month it is for me!!!!!
you’re right!!! it is the Art with Heart Challenge (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/2015/08/art-with-heart-challenge-august-choose-your-own-theme NULL.html) and this month is Old is New!!!
so for my project this month i chose to use a couple of Eileen’s older dies with one of her newer ones…..
i started my project by cutting out a flower for a base and five doilies
to create a flower…
then it was..hmm what shall i do with this flower
and then it came to me…. an ATB!!
so i cut one out of my white mat board, did a bit of stamping on the ATB as well i cut out, embossed, sanded and inked some Kraft Core
i then added started layering, creating and alas didn’t take a lot of pictures along the way.
here is my beautiful old/new ATB
i fully believe in
hoarding storing all my purchases and i know a lot of you do too so now is the time to dig some of them out and play, do a little mix and mingle with some newer items and let’s see what you come up with!!
