an altered clock for my new space!! I had so much fun creating this quick and simple project.

WELCOME color burst

hello everyone!!

today I am here to show you a quick and simple banner created using the Ken Oliver watermedia banner kit (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn04509 NULL.html?w=ken+oliver).

I started by covering the banners with DecoArt (http://decoart NULL.com/products/)black gesso. I originally had the idea if I sprinkled color burst (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn06339 NULL.html?w=ken+oliver)onto the gesso and then when I applied the DecoArt (http://decoart NULL.com/products/) modeling paste through my TCW stencil my letters that the  paste would suck it up through and tada color bursted letters but it didn’t work as I wanted..  the universe decided that I needed them to just stay white!! I am okay with that

so instead I added my pops of colour using the butterfly daisy stamp and the butterfly daisy mandala stamp (https://www NULL.youtube NULL.com/watch?v=NwwcwhyqN-8) painting them using color burst and my paint brush. to give the images a crisper look I stamped them using the click-it ink pad (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn06394 NULL.html?w=ken+oliver)and them heat embossed them using Emerald Creeks clear embossing powder.

I then cut them out using the matching die.. so quick and easy to do!

and then it is just a matter of decorating my banner

thanks for stopping by. I hope you have been creating and sharing with us all!!

color burst project

hello everyone!!

today i am here to share with you my final piece in my yoga series. this one features me!

so i decided this time that i wanted my background to be a more subtle colour with the focus being on the actual chakras. so let’s get started with the show and tell!

so i started with a  few of the ‘warm’ color burst colours onto my canvas color burst

I then made my picture I wanted to use for this piece and placed the chakras in spot. I traced the spots onto my canvas and using color burst and a paint brush painted them in place

chakras beginning

to seal these so I could put my figure and not in I used some liquid glass (http://decoart NULL.com/mixedmedia/liquid-glass) to protect them

but then I had another idea….why not make the whole background my chakra colours and so the adding of layers began!!

change of plans

i love layering my color burst and heat blasting it with my gun!!

color burst richnessnow it was time to paint on my figure using some black gesso (http://decoart NULL.com/mixedmedia/gesso)

painting in me

now here is my piece set aside waiting to dry

chakra and mei then inked the edges of my piece using the black gesso and once again set it aside to dry..

the final step was to add that layer of Ice Resin to my piece. here it s finished

chakra yogi

and here they are, all hung up in my room!!

Coaster bursting with colour

hello everyone!!

I am excited to share with you my latest project for Ken Oliver’s Design Team!

this week I have created another coaster! I am hoping eventually to have enough created that I have one on every surface that could contain a coffee cup, water glass, tea cup,….. wine glass!

so i started creating on a piece of watercolour paper (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn04504 NULL.html?w=ken+oliver). i started by applying Iron Oxide (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn06613 NULL.html) onto the paper, heat setting it as it dripped and rolled.color burst i continued to repeat the same process using different liquid metals

color burst metal effectsand then i got lost in the whole process and forgot to take pictures!!!

the basic steps were the application of the liquid metals. i then cut out the butterflies from the Ken Oliver Studio collection (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn05866 NULL.html?w=ken+oliver+paper) attached them to the coaster, added some chit chat stickers and then covered the whole thing using ice resin

here is my finished coaster

coaster closeup color burst coasterlove the effect of those metal effects protected by ice resin. this coaster will be out on my table for years to come.. i can just tell!!

Color Burst banner

hello everyone!

i am here to share with you a very quick and easy banner to create for any occasion!i have made mine to hang in my new room downstairs …  if it ever gets finished!!!

so to begin my project i decided to use the ATC cards as i absolutely love the weight of them when creating with color burst (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn06354 NULL.html?w=color+burst)!  i painted on the colour that corresponds to the chakras. i then cut out 7 circles from the ATC cards

creating banner

as i had already printed out the 7 chakra symbols i wanted to be sure that they would stick to the circles i used Stick it (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-sk-310 NULL.html?w=stick+it). i just pressed the symbol onto the sheet and cut out and then pressed into the centre of my circles. it was so easy and no glue stuck to my fingers!! loved it!!

I then traced around each after they were stuck with a black udi pen

chakra banner with stick it

i then used my liquid metals (http://www NULL.scrapbook NULL.com/store/pp-kn06613 NULL.html?w=color+burst)and applying using a paint brush to the cardboard. once dry i sewed the edges as well as strung them together

and here you have it.. i plan on using this as a sign to ‘do not disturb’ when i am downstairs meditating!!

Colorburst Chakra

would love to hear your thoughts.. leave me a comment and let me know what you have been creating lately with your color burst!
