a pile of sketches

i had been asked once again to provide an interpretation of a sketch challenge put out there by Vicki of A Pile of Sketches (http://apileofsketches NULL.blogspot
for my first one i chose to use Bobunny papers .. i love love love this picture of my cousin’s daughter and even though i am not a ‘pink kind of girl’ the little one is so i just had to do her layout all girly like. i did manage to add a bit of distress ink as well as grungepaper.. i just couldn’t resist

for the second one, and i only did two because i love this sketch i chose to do a layout of my sister and i. the background started out as a cream cardstock, i layed down my Crafters Workshop branches stencil and sprayed some Goosebumps.. okay that has to be one product that i was soooo scared of trying but now must buy more… once it was dry i sprayed on color wash in various spots, added a bit of water to the paper and to my papertowel and wiped it off the goosebumps.. i love how it turned out!! once again i used Bobunny papers, left over from above layout, and added a bit of ‘stitching’ with my sharpie, a little bit of journalling and tous finis!!

thanks for stopping by. head on over to A Pile of Sketches to see what everyone else came up with.

Days 10 – 14

So we wrapped up LOAD yesterday at A PILE OF SCRAP! (http://www NULL.apileofscrap

just wanted to take a moment and show you what my last 5 layouts were

Day 10 – using a household item

i used a coffee filter as a pocket to hold my son’s instructions and receipts from having his wisdom teeth pulled!

Day 11 –  create bling

i made the grungeboard heart. a little secret, okay maybe it isn’t a secret, i LOVE the smell of grungeboard and yes i carry a piece with me everywhere i go. use it when i need a sanity check!!! for this page total inspiration came from the back of one of Tim’s cardstock packs of paper.

Day 12 – corrugated cardboard

i love how this one turned out. cardboard is so much fun to work with. mental note…. do this more!! the large swirl on the side is an ezee pzee piece which i have had for a while. loved using the paint and tapes on this one. i have hidden journalling under the picture

Day 13 – left over alphas

my total least favorite and i really should take another attempt at this one. i loved the concept but not how it turned out.. maybe it needs a bit of paint or something??? i was having a reflective day so chose to do journalling instead of a picture

Day 14 – favorite technique

i have soooooo many favorite techniques it was a hard to chose just one…. so i didn’t!!! it was a perfect opportunity to do the canvas using the techniques from the inspiration class i took from Jennifer McGuire (http://www NULL.jennifermcguireink a while back. I feel in love with her canvas and just had to make one of my own!! so many products on this one it is simply one of my favorite pieces.

that is a wrap folks. i hear there maybe another one coming up real soon. this time a sketch LOAD.. that would be fun.. thinking.. thinking.. thinking.

LOAD day 9

just a quick post to show you day 9. our challenge was to make flowers.

i so badly wanted to do the whole Christy Tomlinson wire flowers dipped in UTEE but i just couldn’t make it work no matter how hard or how many times i tried.

so what did i do instead…. i poured all the UTEE out of my melt pot onto my craft sheet and rolled a rollie stamp with flowers on it through the hot UTEE.

it turned out to be longer than 12 inches so i broke of the ends and formed a flower with the broken pieces. That is it for this 10 will come tonight.. it is finished but i didn’t have the right picture..stay tuned!!

Day 3 – using stamps

so today’s challenge was to stamp in a non traditional manner. I was not quite sure what i could do for this one. i thought of using my stamps and preparing a canvas but alas no time for that. then it came to me.. i was browsing Shelly Hickox (http://shellyhickox NULL.blogspot blog and remember seeing her using a stamp and some utee. you can see her post here (http://shellyhickox NULL.blogspot NULL.html)… and this is what i made
