TCW – Merry Christmas

hello everyone!!!

can you believe it is Christmas time already!!

today I just wanted to share with you a  quick and easy card I made using Decofoil Transfer Gel and some Deco Foil transfer sheets

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I know it says to use a laminator but I like to experiment.. you see I don’t own a laminator so I figured there must be a way I can do this because I had a vision.

so here is what I did. I stared out by spreading a thinish layer of gel onto a piece of mixed media paper through my stencil.  I then set it aside to dry..

and because I had so much left on my stencil if thought why not make a couple more!!!

once they were dry I laid on a sheet of transfer sheet and using my heat tool (NOT my embossing tool because, well I did try that but it melted my foil before it would actual adhere to my gel)

as it was heating I took a stick and rubbed onto of my stencil image…checking every so often to be sure all places were covered.

I then repeated it with the centre bow but this time I used some of Rebekah’s foil.. it worked the same way. I then stuck that onto a piece of black cardstock and fuzzy cut and set aside.

to finish my card was so simple.. a bit of stitching and stamping, and adhereing my bow.. all done.. just like that!!!

I hope you enjoyed my quick little tutorial and that you take the time to play and experiment using the supplies you have on hand and some of The Crafter’s Workshop stencils… and if you do, please do share with us.. we love to see what you are up to! TCW- art journalling- don’t regret

hello everyone!

today i am here to share with you an art journal page i created using a lot of different The Crafter’s Workshop stencils. This is another one of those pages where you doodle, stop, take a boo and then doodle some more.  to me a page isn’t finished  until i apply the quote.  so let’s see the process i went through to create this page

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

i wanted to use this mixed media tape on my page so chose a couple of stencils and paints and started

now this was a good place to start..coloured mixed media tape and a mop up page (though the one shown is not the one i used)

but the green one in the background of this picture is the one i used. the top one will be in a future post!

i then started working on building layers on my background. i layered many many times and stencils before i got to this point.

my main focal point/stencil used for this page was the Stencil Screen Print. it has so many different patterns on it and if you mix and match the large stencil and small stencil with paints you have endless layers on your page. i love that.

i just had to share this picture with you…. while i was creating and lost in the process my friend snapped this picture of me. this is truly me in my element….enjoying the process and just being….

at this point i had used various stencils and paints to layer and layer this page….. after i was done doodling a little bit i decided i needed one main focal point and chose the dragon fly from that stencil

i then inked the outside of it with my white gel pen and using my black stabilo pencil i outlined my media tape

now it was just time to add a quote…… typically when i see a dragonfly i see it as a message from another so i added what i felt an appropriate quote , a fine back ground stamp and that is what finished my page….

Remember, we would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.

Unsung Hero with Emerald Creek & altered pages!

hello everyone!!

i am here today to share with you a project i created for Emerald Creek in partnership with Altered Pages

so i knew as soon as i seen the artful nudes and fairy wings they would become the focus piece of my art journal page. here are few of the step outs for you to see my process

i started out by fussy cutting the two main pieces and then i cut out a skirt for my nude.

once it was cut to fit my artful nude lady i covered it with some Art Anthology Sorbet in various colours to match my lady

i then set that piece aside to dry and started working on my background page. i applied some sorbet through my TCW stencil

and then i carefully used the Kimilise stamp and and various shades of StazOn ink to edge my piece

next once everything was dry i used some heavy gel medium and some of the quarry bits and added a touch of crystal to my piece to which i infused with lots of reiki love

then it was just a matter of adding a few final touches to my fairy lady.. who i happen to believe is one of many unsung heroes who have come before us. They paved the way for us today.

and so here you have my finished piece after adding a few butterflies and some stitching

i think she is absolutely the coolest thing… love the attitude on her face!!

i had a lot of fun creating this project. i hope you have enjoyed and that you too are taking time to create. you can find a link to most of the products used below!

until next time my friends

TCW -creating some quick cards

hello everyone!

today i am sharing over on The Crafter’s Workshop page just how quick and easy it is to make a batch of cards!

so let’s get to it!!

first thing to do is to lay down a sheet of watercolour paper and lay various stencils on the papers. then sprinkle various colours of Color Burst

next spray some water to activate

now i am sure you are like me and don’t like to ‘waste’ all this extra goodness so be sure to have an extra sheet of watercolour paper on hand to press on top before lifting the stencils

once both sheets are dry you should have a nice pile of background colours

i am loving all these backgrounds.. now to make them into cards i had cut them up and on the third piece of paper i had used to clean up the stencils i stamped “Thanks’ a few times to attach to this pile of cards.

the final steps in creating my cards was I ran them through my vagabond using some embossing folders to give them a little extra bit of texture.  And here you have them again, my Thanks cards created using a just a few stencils.

The Crafter’s Workshop, Color Burst and Sizzix  provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share here are solely my own.

The Crafter’s Workshop Supplies used:
TCW Stencils: TCW750s-dahlia blooms (http://_wp_link_placeholderhttp://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw750-dahlia-blooms/)TCW743s-crazy waves (http://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw743-crazy-waves/)TCW732s – celtic designs (http://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw732-celtic-design/)TCW726s – onion blossoms (http://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw726-onion-blossoms/); TCW727s – flower dance (http://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw727-flower-dance/);  TCW744s-wanderlust (http://store NULL.thecraftersworkshop NULL.com/product/tcw744-wanderlust/)

Other supplies used: Ken Oliver’s Color Burst, Eileen Hull embossing folders by Sizzix, Stamp set from Sizzix and Tim Holtz stamping platform.
