idea-ology halloween dome

hello everyone!!

so today i am here to share with you a project that i created just for me! you see today is Thanksgiving here in Canada and so since i cooked my turkey Saturday i had today off to just be…..

this little project seriously brings me a chuckle every single time i look at it… i love when a project is created and brings joy…even if it is a halloween project

i like to think the story behind these photos is the main skeleton outdrank all the others….but then he drank one too many potions and met his demise as well

i didn’t take step by step photos but as you will see it is such an easy project to put together using some Tim Holtz  idea-ology bits, the skulls (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp,  decorate dome (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp, black dice (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp,  apothecary vials (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp and the vignette box (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp a little skeleton from the dollar store

so much fun and a dome filled with and created with joy.

and i am going to do something else that i haven’t done in a long time, i am going to link this project up to a challenge. you seen Simon Says has a challenge this week of ‘not a card’ (http://www NULL.simonsaysstampblog and this is not a card!!

what have you been up to…. care to share!

until next time my friends,

there are so many possibilities for this one die and the inspiration team has spent the last month showing us all sneak peaks of a few…..

turning 50

hello everyone

i am here today to share with you one of what i am sure to be many pieces i am sure to be creating from the beautiful photo’s from my wonderful ‘turning 50’ trip. it was a trip that i had imagined but never thought it would be possible.. seeing the sunset on my last night being in my 40’s and the sunrise on my first day of my 50’s in one of the most beautiful awe inspiring no words can describe place on earth.

for this my first project,  i started out by layering tissue paper and other bits onto a framed panel (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp using matte medium. i then used many different things from paint, to sprays, clear texture paste, crackle and vintage mediums. i coloured using my distress crayons, archival inks and some more paint until i was happy with the background.

i added some remnant rubs in both black and gold both on the background, the frame and the card to give it some added depth. the ’50’ is from a birthday card i received and were so perfect from me that i wanted to be able to keep them in a piece. so i embossed and debossed and inked and stained and rubbed and sanded until i got it to the place i wanted it to be.the wings represent the love of life both in the here and now as well as for those gone before me. i am a very blessed soul who does love life and never take for granted every breath i take. the three little pearls are there to represent those ladies in my life who went before me and who if it wasn’t for them i wouldn’t be who i am… my mom, my nanny and my aunt ruby.

i truly hope you all have a wonderfully blessed and happy week!

TTT – December 2016

hello everyone!

holy wow! I can’t believe that yet another year of Tim’s Tags has come and gone! the 12 tags of 2016-remix (http://timholtz been so full of inspiration and revisiting the techniques from years gone pass makes me realize how many things i have done and forgotten, and also makes me realize how far i have come!!

I know I  am not the only one who loves to look back and see what each tag/technique we have done gives us the inspiration we need sometimes when that mojo is missing. I personally have mine all hung above my work space and literally look at them each time I am stuck.  all the techniques can be transformed into an art journal page, a canvas, a scrapbook layout, a card etc….

so here is my final tag for 2016. as i was creating my tag this month i wanted to end my 2016 with a thought…. ‘cherish the moments’ is how one really needs to live each and every day so that is what i went with

and  a few close ups!

december-tag-1 december-tag-3 december-tag-4

i didn’t follow exactly as tim did but that is what i believe he encourages us to do every month….recreate using his techniques but make it our own…..thank you so much tim for all your inspiration (http://timholtz the years.

quick cards using Sizzix

Hello everyone!
today I am jumping in here quickly just to show you how fast and easy it is to put a couple of cards together using Sizzix dies and festive papers

so for this first card I cut the large  oval out of the stitched oval (http://www NULL.sizzix, backed it with a bit of festive paper and die cut Eileen’s banners from the  banners and pennants set (http://www NULL.sizzix…all that was left was to add the word Peace from the vintage tidings (http://www NULL.sizzix
and then I used the oval that was left from the first card, added the tree from the woodlands thinlit (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp and a simple chit chat sticker (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp
see what I mean.. simple and fast! I might add a piece of twine down the side of this one!

so I believe that I may just take a few minutes tonight and cut myself out a few more and then call my cards for the year done!
how about you? have you finished your cards yet!
