hello everyone!!! welcome to an exciting collaboration between Eileen Hull and Stampendous titled Along the Garden Path!!
today I i am here today to share with you how i created a gnome town house party centre by combining Eileen Hulls cookie box steel rule die by Sizzix and the mushroom home clear stamp and die set from Stampendous!!
so i started out making two marks on my cookie box die. i wanted to be able to place folded paper on the die with out it cutting through. i wanted my ‘stump’ to be one sold piece of paper
i also placed an extra layer under my ‘wooden’ paper because as you know steel rule dies will cut quite thick paper.
next it was a matter of colouring my ‘stump’ because that is after all what my gnomes are living in…an old tree stump!for the roof of my home i decided to use some of the paper leather sheet by sizzix. i embossed using Eileens XX folder and then rubbed some silver paint over the top. i kind of was going for the whole tin roof look
i then sanded and inked my roof in order to have it blend into it’s surroundings.. after all we don’t want everyone knowing where the gnomes live!
but being a party house we needed to be sure it has some party colours so i prepped some watercolour paper using distress paints i then stamped the door and windows onto the paper and cut them out and then proceeded to glue them onto my house.
for the ‘party lights’ on the roof I started by using the prototype twister tool and some cord and once twisted I wrapped it around the roof.
I then stamped the ‘stone walk way’ on to some paper and inked with some archival ink, cut out and glued onto my string
and so here you have it.. if you happen to find your way to the correct path that brings you to the gnome homes you will be sure to have a good time!!
just remember to look for those twinkling lights!!
hope you are having a fun time hopping along with the Stampendous and Eileen Hull design teams!!
