Eileen Hull Planner die

hello everyone

today I am here to share with you a piece I have created to hopefully help organize me for the whole year!  I created it with the thought that I would fill it full of premade cards for each month (hence the numbers!) but have only gotten as far as blank cards and envelopes but have faith that eventually there will be cards in there!

I started off in one direction / colour scheme and then switched completely but thought I’d spare you the whole process…  i had basically started off using inks and then decided that i wanted to add some paints and some texture and chipboard elements….and this is what i sort of ended up with…..

but let me show you how i started. first i started out by cutting 12 pieces from Planner Die.  after using adhesive and shaping them i then used some wet adhesive and attached them all together and to a solid piece of mat board for the bottom. once completely dry i painted the whole thing with black gesso

once it was dry with the first coat of black gesso i then added some chipboard bits and some stencilling.  then it was time to decide how to colour it and i decided to try out ALL the metallic paints i had in my Prima trunk.so many layers and so many colours.. i didn’t quite know where i wanted to stop.

ultimately i stopped on a more neutral set of colours. i have the intention of filling this with either birthday cards for each month (i said intention!) but probably will end up using it for bits of scrap paper on my sizzix desk so they are handy when i need them

so much fun playing and creating with this die. i have so many ideas as do the rest of Eileen Inspiration team. please do take a moment and check out all our organizational projects this month!

until next time my friends

I love seeing those planner holders all lined up like that and the colours you achieved with all those paints is gorgeous!! x

I love the thick black gesso coating on these Diana – and the great texture added with the stenciling and numbers – the brushed on colors add great depth to it all and a great shimmer of color! A wonderful set of files to store just about anything!

What a great idea Diana- I love the idea of a year’s worth of cards! But if you change your mind this can be whatever you want. The numbers are the perfect touch and I see why you wanted to use all those pretty colors!
