a festive gift holder

hello everyone!! today I am here to share with you a fun little project I created for the Emerald Creek Dares  (http://blog NULL.emeraldcreek NULL.ca/)challenge!

ECC Blog Header

this week we are all about sharing our festive projects. for me there isn’t much more festive than the shimmer and glimmer of the season.

so i started off cutting out Eileen Hull’s recipe card box (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/659876/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-box-recipe-card) from mat board. i then covered it with Finnabair white sand texture paste (https://www NULL.primamarketinginc NULL.com/shop/news/cat/artextravagance/)and then immediately covered it with a coating of distress glitter dust  (http://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product NULL.aspx?id=334870)and some of Emerald Creeks burnt copper leaves (http://www NULL.emeraldcreek NULL.ca/Burnt-Copper-Leaves-Embossing-Powder-p/ehse-0008 NULL.htm) embossing powder

magical mixturethen i set it aside to dry.  once it was completely dry i heat set it to activate the embossing powder. totally in love !!!

next i needed to decide what i was going to put on the front of the card so into my stash i go and out comes the trophy antlers (http://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product NULL.aspx?id=332528) to which i added some of the vintage platinum glitter dust (http://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product NULL.aspx?id=334870), popped it inside a wreath to which i added these adorable Emerald Creek pinecones (http://www NULL.emeraldcreek NULL.ca/Pine-Cone-Charm-p/ch-pinecone NULL.htm) using some gold floss and a red bow for a splash of colour.

totally in love with how i transformed Eileen’s die into a sparkling package to house some special gifts!!!
