so this weeks challenge from StudioL3 features a product that i fully have to admit to that i carry around in my purse, have a wallet made out of, only so i can smell it every chance i get… Grungeboard. it absolutely hands down has to be my favorite scrapbook product ever !! thank you very muchTim Holtz . you are a genius!!! I would also love to give a shout out to the ever creative Brenda Brown who shows you how she went from a sketch to a travel pouch with her challenge this week and to Craft Dawn who may or may not have a slight addiction to making tags… i like this girl!!!
so for my challenge i made it a double whammy. You see Megan put out the challenge July 23rd and once a month for the next four months, a challenge to make an All About Me mini album. Drop on over to APOS! and check out hers as well as the rest of the creative challenges put out to us from the inspiration team.
my album cover is all i have done so far and picked out the words for the next two pages but haven’t quite figured out how i want them. So for now this is what i have.
First i covered the album with various distress inks, broken china, crushed olive, aged mahogany and rusty hinge. i then used the black paint dabber to do the edges of the album. i followed that by a light spray of Heirloom gold perfect peals mist and set that aside to drive.
I next covered a grungeboard heart with wild honey distress stain followed by picket fence distress crackle paint. set it aside to dry. I then cut out a butterfly from the movers and shakers into Rangers Foil tape sheets, covered the butterfly with citrus alcohol ink and set it aside to dry.
then it was time to crack open my new package of Grunge Blocks.. covered the block with black paint dabber and the letters with none other then walnut stain. cut out the title from the alpha parts newsprint and the tiny type finished it all off.
the key, the lock and the pen nib were a find at the antique store in PEI when we were shopping there last month. I am a self admitting collector. i love everything but hate ‘wasting it’ on my pages, tags, layouts. i have decided to start using everything hence the breaking into the grunge letters, and the alpha parts. now the key was silver and it really didn’t go with the page so out came the gold alcohol ink
what wasn’t dried became dry once i took out my Ranger Heat it craft tool and then i started gluing everything together.
it looked really good, to me anyway, except it was missing a little something…. punchenella!!!! so out it came, a little bit of white dabber and ta da…. here is my cover.
i used She instead of Me because i am hoping this is a book more about then just me, how i am today. i believe we all have different stages in our lives, we are different persons, She’s…. that is what i want this book to be.
so til next time…
HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!
