mixed media challenge #41 – colour

hello everyone!!

can you believe yet another month has gone by and we are presenting you with yet a new challenge at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge … this one is all about colour

No automatic alt text available.

as well, we have partnered up with Rubber  Dance Stamps.

Original original new banner  Rubber Dance offers a unique line of Red Rubber Stamps, UN-mounted, without cling cushion!. they are lovingly made in Norway and they are shipped world wide.

now for my project i was sent the quirky Funny Fungi!!!

here is what i created and how i created it!

i started out using some paint on a 8″ round Gel Press reusable gel printing plate. i just dabbed paints here and there

and using my brayer, spread the paint until i had  covered the circle and then laid my sheet of paper over, pressed and pulled. i also mixed some paints to the side on my craft sheet, brayered and pull…and just kept adding until i was satisfied.

i then added in some stencils and i am sorry to say but by this point i was so lost in the process i forgot to take pictures but here is where i was after the first couple of stencils on a second sheet i created at the same time

so once i had created my back ground circle it was time to focus on my stamp! i dug out some distress markers and just coloured

once i was finished coloured i had a bright idea so out came some more makers, my ruler and archival ink

i cut the little mushroom out from the center of the stamp and then stamped and coloured round the whole circle!

as i was creating my piece i couldn’t help but think how we are all so very different in this world; whether we are people, flowers, trees or mushrooms… we are all our own kind of beauty so that is where my quote came from that i printed out and added to my page

that is it for me for today! do drop on over to the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge page to see what my fellow teamies have come up with and play along!

until next time

This is a stunning piece, Diana! Love seeing that you cut the stamp apart (I do that a lot to mine) so you could use the small fungi. I love that sentiment – have it on a huge wooden sign in my craft room! Thank you for using our fungi stamp so beautifully! ♥

Beautiful project! All the detail you created around the brayer and stencilled circle is amazing. I enjoyed seeing the process you followed too and I like your technique of stamping, colouring and fussy cutting the Funny Fungi as they stand out beautifully from the background 😁. Wishing you a Happy October and Weekend! J 😊
