Mixed Media May-hem with DecoArt Media

have you been playing!!

i have and had so much fun creating this piece to share with you that i may have forgotten to take some step outs for you so be sure to ask any questions you may have in the comment section or shoot me an email!!

so not only have i been having fun this month playing with the fabulous  DecoArt Media Line, but the whole Inspiration Team has been having a blast over at Eileen Hulls Art with Heart Challenge

for my project this month i created a frame with a ‘floating’ bluebird in the center!!
i started by cutting this bird out of grungeboard and applying various rubons &  paints with my finger to the bird and wings. once dry i added  a nice coat of satin glaze.

for my frame i cut out a  vintage travel tag from white matboard. i love how one die can be used so many different ways!

i then chose a variety of paints and painted the entire frame and once dried applied some antique cream in white. this is my favorite part of the entire frame!! loved this finish but i didn’t stop….

painted frame
how sweet is that finish!!!

next i applied crackle to the frame to antique it even further

for the banner i coated the whole thing using liquid glass which as it was drying allowed me to bend and wrap the banner around my frame..isn’t that cool!!!

so here are all the products from the media line that i used:

basket of decoArt

and here is my finished project
