okay now that those details are over let’s get into how i created my page

i was searching through some shelves for something, who knows what, and came across one of of Ken Olivers mixed media boards and my walnut ink kit and that is what triggered my idea!

so i started out by applying some crackle paste through the dragonfly stencil and i set that aside to dry. once it was dry i started using my sprays…once my dragonfly was sprayed with the terra cotta i covered it and then applied the other sprays on the outside edges.

then it was all about letting it dry. i loved how it turned out… and then i had this brilliant idea!!  why not add a few gems to highlight the dragonfly!! so out came my crystals

and i layered them into my dragonfly

i love all the crackles on this piece… it truly reminds me of the crackles you see in old pieces of ceramic…

i am wondering if perhaps i should layer a think layer of resin to preserve this piece…thinking…

thanks for stopping by.  don’t forget to play along!!

  1. WOW on this texture! What a stunning and gorgeous piece! It definitely needs framing! A beauty!

  2. Oh my goodness! This looks like it should be on display in a museum. It reminds me old ceramics from the Roman era. It’s so gorgeous thanks for sharing it with us Karen
