peaceful moments

hello everyone! today i am here to share with you my very first posting as part of the Ken Oliver Media Team

today marks a special day in my life and i chose to honour the new beginnings with a piece of art created for my heart.

i started off using one of Ken’s Mixed Media Photo Mats; and let me tell you i sure put it to the test!!!

so i started of by laying a Jessica Sporn stencil and sprinkling my color burst through and i got this:

then i decided maybe i should outline all the bits in black pen but i really wasn’t happy with that look either….so what to do .. i added my little yogie, another  Stencil Girl Products stencil  by Jessica Sporn created exclusively for Stencil Girl to the mat board and yup i liked her…..now what to do….. i liked it but it really wasn’t colourful enough for me so i added a ‘few’ more colours!

now that is more like it!!

i had so much fun adding and taking away that i naturally got lost in the whole process but basically i would add a colour or two, spritz it and heat set it and continue. i also added some spritz of water to give it the whole speckled effect.

now i wasn’t sure what i was going to do next and really wanted to keep some of that colour on the background so i added some clear texture paste through the same stencil and set it aside to dry.

then it was just a matter of choosing  which photo i wanted and a quote…. and here is my final piece
