okay so i have been out of making tags as of late but this weekend when all 27 of these babies arrived in my mailbox (inspiration emporium rocks) i had no chose but to dig out my tags and start playing…. oh and speaking of Inspiration Emporium, this months challenge on their blog is using masks and stencils.. give it a try and be sure to link up for your chance to win!!
so here is how it started.. i chose three random paints and applied them directly to my craft mat and swiped, dried and swiped again.
spectacular aren’t they!!! so once the paint was driied i took my new most favorite paste EVER…embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi and applied it over the distress paints using a crafters workshop stencil
pretty cool stuff!! love the texture on this!!! speaking of texture over at The Artistic Stamper their theme this month is texture so i am adding this to their link.. hope you drop by and see all the other works of art there!!
then i laid another stencil on it and sprayed with dylusions
didn’t quite like what it looked like so then added water and wiped it off which was a bonus ‘mistake’ because it allowed me to darken the embossing paste a bit to better suit my style (in case you didn’t know i am not a ‘clean’ girlie!!
so then it was time to do a bit of masking.
these are the three techniques i tried…. distress paint direct to mask/doilies; distress paint applied to craft mat and finger used to apply to mask/doilies and the final one was using my blending tool and distress ink
then i must of gotten lost in the process because before i knew it the tag was finished.
so what i did and forgot to take pics of was stamp my butterflies onto Wendy’s Clearly for Art , cut them out and applied them to my tag with the tiny attacher. and then added a bit of bling, a stamped quote and a bit of highlighting a last but not least bit of heat to shape the butterflies and done!
sure hope you enjoyed stopping by today now i must go and do january – march’s tags!!
