Tim’s twelve tags – May

alcohol ink butterflythis was a hard one… not technique wise but because of Tim posting this:
“this month is really going to be a challenge for many of you since we’re using our favorite trinkets and embellishments (you know, that stash of things we collect just to admire and cherish the fact that we simply have them). well it’s time to put those treasures to use with a “creative composition” assignment. now as you take a deep breath, keep reading to see the simple process to layer and incorporate an eclectic mix of elements into an artful tiled tag.”

he so spoke to me and i am guessing many many others.

i am truly a hoarder of all things tim and i fully admit it. i had said at the first of the year my word was ‘enough’ and that means everything including using my ‘stash’ and enough of the hoarding. perfect challenge to start with i’d say

so i dug out a few of those things of which he refers to:

the wish bone – i wish to always remember all things beautiful
the token – i want to remember always that life is good
1/2 – i am a half full kind of gal and i need to remind myself of that on those rare occasions that life seems to get to me
the arrow – life is about living, moving forward. the past has happened and no matter what it can not be changed
the star – it is there to remind me that i am a star… not that someday i will be but that i am  unique.. that we all are unique
word band ‘the journey awakens the soul’ – does it ever. we each need to remember that very important part of our lives
the butterfly – it means so very much to me for so many reasons.. it is a symbol of the great love i have in my life. it is the beginning, the ending and the most important part, the middle
the paperclips – an item i just had to have but will not use simply because they are so stinin’ cute
beautiful – last but not least. this is a piece of a card that i had made during a retailers event i attended this year. i do not own any shadow presses YET but am looking to own some in the future. this piece will always remind me that i was able to ‘act like an adult’. those who know me know exactly what that means.
i mounted all my pieces on left over fabric covered matboard from this project. i just knew i would be able to use it someday!

with all that said here is what i created:
