hello everyone!! happy week to you all!!!
i am back again this week to show you another project for the Art with Heart Challenge, chose your own theme! the design team are using some old dies mixed with new things to create their own pieces of art!
today i have such a cool little treasure box to share with you all. i started by using Eileen Hulls toolbox die, one of my favourites and not necessarily old but one of the original ‘must have’ ones from here collection; which i cut out of black mat board.
then it was time to get out my DecoArt media line and play.
i started by layer a layer of crackle paint onto all pieces. once dry i started adding layers of paint starting with cobalt turquoise
followed by Phthalo Blue and finally to bring it all together, Transparent Red Iron Oxide how yummy is that!! i love how this turned out!!! the crackle, that paint and the black mat board peaking through… makes me very happy
now that is where i got lost in the whole process but here are some pictures of my finished project
the beauty on top of my treasure chest is the fanciful fairy by Peter Hughes for Sizzix. i cut two opposites out and glued them together to sit on top of the box. i had though of trying to make her into a mermaid but she is so perfect just the way she is! such detail on her skirt and wings! i treasured my vacation and the marvellous project i created to hold my treasured seaglass
hope you are creating!

This is crackle at it’s finest! Love it! Great design!
This is so gorgeous! I love the great crackle effect, it turned out wonderfully. And all those pieces of sea glass are fantastic! I love sea glass, but haven’t found any in a long time.
Wow Diana, that colored crackle is out of this world! Just like the sea glass- perfect match!
