i haven’t made an atc in so very long and forgot how much fun they can be and their size. i googled it!
i am in a swap and this months theme was alcohol ink backgrounds with butterflies. it was so much fun playing with alcohol ink. it is one of those products i have that i don’t use much and when i do i wonder why don’t i use them more.
so here they are in all their glory. you will see that i happen to be a huge fan of the latest technique shown over on tim’s blog. sometimes, okay most times, he blows my mind on the things he creates and shares with us.
and this one i call dark
i used the alcohol ink direct to the mat technique and the ‘dark’ is the first generation and the ‘light’ is the second generation. i also made a third generation and a fourth for future projects. it is amazing how far a bit of alcohol ink, some mixative and a bit of blending solution goes.
remember my word for the year ‘less’. well where does that fit in. well in this case it is hoarding things less. you see i have been hanging on to my glassine envelopes and paper pad and admiring them for so long… it is time to let them go. and really what better way then to give them away right!
so the butterflies are made out of glassine paper, the ‘dark’ is mounted on a piece and the envelopes i will send them in are as well.
til next time…
HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!

Gorgeous ATCs! Loving your backgrounds, big time.
These are in my hands and I love them! Thank you for writing up how you did the backgrounds. I’ve never used the mixative or the blending solution before. I definitely will be trying them now! Thank you so much for the gorgeous ATCs!
