hello everyone!! i am back today to show you what i created when playing along with the Compendium of Curiosities III challenge. i have been a little slack in getting things posted… lots going on in my world and i am running to catch up but just can’t get there!!
one of my favorite things about these challenges is the ability to just play with a few guidelines; check out Tim’s techniques in his book, Compendium of Curiosities III. The current challenge is Layering stencil: texture paste from page 49.
i have to say a special thank you to the folks over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique their generous sponsorship. As always i can’t reveal the techniques used but you will see that a little ‘stash of goodies’ goes a long way…
i created my tags on a plane trip to my Nanny’s( i had applied my texture paste through my layering stencils just prior to leaving my house). now if you have a minute i will tell you a funny story.. if not go ahead and skip on down to the photos.
so as i was finishing creating this tag for the challenge:
the lovely flight attendant happened upon me playing and totally wanted my tag.. who was i to say no really. it’s not like i don’t have a gazzilion at home or anything and besides we had noted when we got on the plane that she didn’t look to be having a fantastic kind of day. so off she went with my tag.
it wasn’t long and she was back and telling me that her workmate fell in love with my tag and he wanted one as well. would it be possible to buy one? i said oh i would gladly make him one right now.
well he wanted the original so the flight attendant literally sat in the aisle beside me as i was creating. she was able to pick out what she wanted on hers from my little stash above.
here is the tag i made for her:
i love that i made her day. she smiled so much more and really isn’t that the best payment one can get from anything; the ability to help make someone’s day, their moments, greater. it was a nice way to pass the time on our flight to Nanny’s.

No wonder the flight attendant wanted your tag!!! It’s gorgeous! I love your layers of embossed texture paste work and the blended colors of your background. All of your stamping really looks fabulous, too! Thanks for sharing with us at CC3C. <3 Candy
It’s a beauty AND a great story. How fun that brought that flight attendant over to the dark side… she’ll be stamping before she knows it! Great seeing you at CC3C, Diana – thanks for joining in!
