hello everyone!!
this weeks challenge over at Emerald Creek Dares
is all about the spring!
so when i think of spring i think of all the things that are coming but nothing more than flowers and the return of the birds
so i started off using some Yup0 paper and some alcohol inks in blue tones followed by red. for the red i allowed it to just run and dry to form the darker edges
next i added the centre of my flower and the stem using doodlestix. it was so simple. i just squired the alcohol ink onto my craft mat and dipped the tool into it and then added to my page
isn’t that seriously cool!
next it was time to add another piece of spring and for me there isn’t much more perfect than the hummer stamp! i stamped it onto my page and then sprinkled some clear embossing powder and then moving quickly i heat set it. you have to be careful when doing this for a couple of reasons.. one you are heating alcohol ink and two the paper tends to warp if you aren’t quick enough
so following the same steps, picking up the ink with the doodlestix i coloured my hummer. i love how the embossed edges almost gave it a stopping point from the alcohol ink from spreading
i applied a coat of silver paint to my frame and then once dried dripped some alcohol ink onto it as well
and here you have it.. my ode to spring mini canvas for my wall!
i hope you enjoyed the process i showed you in how i created my piece. as always any questions do send my way. i love to share what i have discovered.
also be sure to visit the rest of the team and see what they have come up with!
