Hello everyone!! Our July Art With Heart challenge has been up and running and you won’t want to miss out on this one! The design team is focusing on Eileen’s Make It 3-D die. This die easily adds a whole new dimension (literally!) to all your regular flat dies. The possibilities are endless!
i chose to make two 3D projects as i didn’t know enough to stop..
my first project, which i have been working on for a while and loving every little thing about is this:
it was such a fun project to play with. i started first by cutting out one 3D for the base and 4 luggage tags for the sides
i coloured each tag using the newest distress inks
i then used my distress sprayer to create some blotches.. absolutely love this sprayer!
i then used a Crafters Workshop stencil and added a bit more depth to the outside of my luggage tags
then it was time to work on the inside. i stamped and then coloured using my distress markers
i sprayed with water once coloured as i wanted the muted effect..love them
and check out the inside once it is all assembled..take a close boo at the bottom! that is the 3D die and my inspiration for the entire piece!
so almost finished…it was then just a matter of adding a bit of ribbon and the butterfly
and one of my all time favourite things about the luggage tag…it fits an instax photo perfectly!!!
that was project one!! now onto project two
i started off by cutting out two old jalopy’s from grungeboard and four make it 3d’s; two out of mat board and two out of gungepaper.
i then coloured my jalopy using black soot distress paint for the truck
and weathered wood for the trim.
i then sanded everything and added distress ink to the entire jalopy. i wasn’t quite happy with the trim so i painted it using distress stain in silver…then i was happy
but well not quite. i wanted it to be an antique looking vehicle so i added what else but rock candy distress crackle paste to the entire thing
and lookie, lookie… an eyeglass holder was created!!
i am absolutely in love with them both.
they can be used for anything you can imagine, pens, pencils and yes even eyeglasses
i hope you have enjoyed my tutorials (sorry it was so long!!) and i really hope you have taken the time to play along with this challenge in order to win your very own 3D die!!!

I’m so happy to be apart of Eileen Hull Inspiration Design Team and help promote Eileen Hull’s wonderful products that are manufactured with Sizzix. Eileen and Sizzix so generously supply us with so many fabulous Dies and Embossing Folders to work with like those that I’m using today
