okay so over at inspiration emporium they have a challenge to make a birthday card.
well if you know me you know i am not one to make cards…
i love the outcome but am fearful of the process
well for this challenge i just went all out and just did it.
so i started with mop up pieces from my art journal page and some scraps from my box
once cut up to size i inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink followed by black archival ink
then it was time to use the rest of my left over scraps from the same piece of paper… no wasting so out came my vagabond and my tim holtz alphabets and i cut out ‘birthday’
sort of kind of like how it turned out. then out came my new set of stamps from tim holtz and i stamped just the ‘happy’ (3 times as it was duck dynasty night!)
so i was loving how it was turning out but it was missing something.. it took me a bit but then i figured out what it was missing. a bit of black gesso and a crafters workshop star!!
i then took the squirter part out of the bottle and squirted some perfect pearls heirloom gold in the centre of the star and used my little paint brush to even it out! love it
so here is my card…for someone who doesn’t make cards i am so happy with how it turned out!

You’ve gone to quite a length to create a beautiful and artistic background for your card. It really splashes off the card and works well with your simple sentiment. Nice card I’m glad to have found you through Inspiration Journal’s challenge.
Diana your card turned out fabulous!! For one that doesn’t make cards often, you could have fooled me! Black gesso on a card… a gal after my own heart! And a great idea to use the gold perfect pearls mist on the star and spread it out…like a shooting start. The recipient is lucky to receive such a gorgeous, inky card! (I’ve got a soft spot for inky cards! 😉 )
Thanks for joining us this month at the Inspiration Emporium for the Birthday Challenge!
Hugs,
