hello everyone!!
today i am bringing you my version of Tim’s Twelve Tags – 2016!!
now initially i spent a lot of time trying to figure out what i wanted to do for this month and which die i wanted to use..to the point that i totally missed doing it prior to my studio being moved. (i will be posting more on the last 12 weeks of reno’s soon!!)
but really i think it was meant to be that i didn’t get it done prior to that as it in fact it made it that this was the very first project i created in my new studio space!!! how perfect is that!!
so i followed along, for the most part (wink) with Tim’s remixes and here is what i came up with!!
i loved the paint resist background created for this tag!! it came out perfect! i am not sure that i had ever done this before on pre-embossed papers! i will most definitely be doing it again
for my flowers i decided to rip open my package of substrate sheets and lay a layer of distress paint onto it to create the different colours for the flower pedals
i used the glaze to cover my words, my label and even used it on those extra flowers that i didn’t mosaic.
my favourite part of this tag though i have to say is the watering can!! i used some of the adhesive back metal and applied it to some chipboard prior to cutting it out. i then used my sander and roughed it up before applying some black soot distress paint to it. for the mosaic portions of my tag, i used the left over painted leather paper from this project instead of paper bits. and i totally followed along with the idea from Redanne about using the mixed media #3 sizzix thinlit to cut out my pieces!
and don’t you just love the little baroque frame!
by far this is one of those tags, experiences in creating, that i totally enjoyed it all. i think even my ribbon came out exactly as i wanted it too!!!
now speaking of enjoy i am headed back to the art retreat being held in my city hosting 5 international artist to which one is Eileen Hull!! i am so excited to be spending time with her and the rest of the artist!
i think some are coming to my studio tonight to be my first international guests!! we are planning a “Facebook Live” tour so i hope to see you all there!
happy weekend everyone !!

SO COOL that you were able to do the mosaic on that tiny flower…LOVE that! Beautiful take!
Diana, I love your version of Tim’s tag (so much easier to die cut the mosaic isn’t it!), the watering can was a brilliant choice of die, it looks amazing with your sanding back. The flowers are gorgeous too.
I am looking forward to hearing more about your new craft room, I bet your visitors will be wowed by it I am sure. If I am not too late, please say a big hello to Eileen for me. Hugs, Anne xx
