i have so enjoyed playing around with this months tag challenge from the king of tags mr tim holtz!
so my first few steps were to cover my reel and my letters with clear rock candy distress crackle paint…i freakin love that stuff!!
then while they were drying i used the method that tim showed us of apply distress stain to our craft mats and brayer it onto our tag.
i guess i missed the ‘lightly’ part as mine came out nothing like his! for my tag i chose to use peakcock feathers and picket fence on my tag, and once my reel was dry i used old paper on it and rusty hinge and picket fence on my letters.
next i took vintage photo and edged my tag. when i went to clean up i decided to wet my craft mat and use the ‘left overs’ to flick some colour onto the tag.
then moving along tim’s instructions i background stamped my tag with russet archival ink in random spots
then out came some black alcohol ink, the sander and the distress set to rough up a couple of my embellishments!
loved where this was going. next out came the remnant rubs and label letters to add a bit to the tag
way cool the way it turned out i think!
so here is my completed tag for July.
i will be linking this up to the 12 tags of 2013 challenge as well as Celebrate! challenge over at Simon Says Stamp blog.
