and what a creation it is!!
i have a ‘portrait’ wall in my dining room.. you know the kind that has odd shaped frames, none really matching the other and NONE in my style. by my style i mean works of art created by me.
so this weekend i jumped in with both feet and continue my quest on creating a piece in finnabair style!
so i started with a picture and a few ‘things’ from my junk drawer and some flowers
next it was turn to add gesso to everything in order for it to be one base colour… except as you can see the dye in some of the flowers just didn’t want to be white!!
now a lot of women at the retreat i was at this weekend thought it was finished here and for some it might be. but if you know me then you know this is not quite dirty enough for me so out came my color wash and my dylusions a bit of paint and this is what i created
it looks so much better in person at least i think it does!!! here are a few close ups:

the texture of the flowers are amazing!! the upper right corner and my treasured pocket watchthank you for stopping by. i do hope you have enjoyed viewing this posting as much as i truly enjoyed making this piece this weekend.
now i am off to get some much needed sleep!!

Holy cow!! That is unreal!!! Freaking awesome!! Much hard work but ohhhhh so worth it!! Gorgeous!!!
This is such a nice piece, seeing it at the different stages this weekend was amazing. I really loved it without the color, just the white gesso but once color was added, there are no words to describe it..
Awesome, your talent amazes me……..so creative 🙂
Saw a little of this at IE on FB and had to stop by for the “bigger” picture! This is gorgeous and I love all the texture and colors framing the photo! Fabulous job! I recently worked on a project quite similar and just loved the finished piece! Enjoy the day!
