now that month just freakin flew by didn’t it.
my ‘elders’ were sure right when they said the older you get the faster time passes. i wonder why. i really truly think my nanny was right when she said it is because we forget half of what happens… she doesn’t i know that. she is as sharp as a brand new tack.
so back to where i was suppose to be going with this post.. my November calendar. when i saw the Crafters Workshop Aspen Trees by Victoria Case stencil i just knew i had to have it
it is a clean and simple stencil that when one uses a black paint or black gesso (which i did) it makes it look like, to me, a forest of birch trees which remind me of my younger days and my mom.
November to me is the month of remembering. i remember and honour all those who fought and died to give us a free safe country to live, i honour all those who are still fighting this battle and i celebrate my mom and, to me, the biggest gift ever given to me, my son.
he was born on her birthday two years after she left us and i believe with my whole being she watched over and guarded us both.
so my page is simple but with so many hidden, or not so hidden, messages…
i am not sure if you can tell but i have drawn out my calendar on the plastic packaging that the stencil came in. i tested it and as long as i am patient and let it dry before rubbing it or closing my journal it should be good!!
thanks for stopping by. i hope to hear your thoughts!

Lovely thoughts and calendar spread. Funny, I just looked at that stencil the other day while at AC Moore -don’t know why I didn’t just get it as I’ve looked at it more than once 🙂
Oh wow! That is impressive. How clever to write the dates on the tree trunks. I just love it.
I agree, time is flying by, and I think it does so faster when you’re creating a calendar of each month. 🙂
Your November calendar is awesome! So different and creative.
