i am here to share with you a project created with a combination of Eileen Hull (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com/) new release the Heartfelt collection and Kunin Felt (http://kuningroup NULL.com/). Kunin Felt is made in the USA of 100% Polyester Fibre, made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles and it is of the highest quality and cuts like a dream when combined with Eileen’s Dies.
I opted to created using Eileen Hull’s Sizzix Thinlits Die House pocket stitchlit (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661902/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-9pk-house-pocket-stitchlits) along with the Sizzix Thinlit Stitchy Flower and Leaf set (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661902/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-9pk-house-pocket-stitchlits)and that along with the Kunin felt made this a quick and easy project that can be whipped up in no time.
I started by cutting out three houses and various flowers and leaves using different colours of felt. I absolutely love all the colours that I have of felt so the biggest decision was which ones to use!!
after stitching the edges of the houses, which now became banner bits, I started to randomly stitch on some of the flowers using buttons
along with the adding of flowers and buttons, I added this butterfly along with the heart in the centre one
and the stitchlits with the words make stitching for someone who doesn’t stitch very easy!!
I finished up the whole project by adding bits of beads and here you have this weeks project!
one of my favorite things to do is challenge myself in creating something out of my element and that is exactly what I did…okay, well maybe it isn’t one of my favourite things to do but it sure is challenging in an exciting way!
I hope you have taken the time this month to stop on over to Eileen’s page and visited all the links from the rest of the inspiration team….I tell you there has been lots and lots of that!!
today i am sharing with you my first journal i created using one of Eileen Hull’s newest releases, journal (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661906/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-journal)
now this is a game changer for sure. there are simply so many possibilities for this one single die. i can see one for travel, one for birthday’s, one for an exercise journal, one for quote collections, etc
i created it by painting the outside of the covers using a variety of metallic and acrylic paints and added a few stamps and that is how quick and simply fast it was.
then it was time to decorate the inside. for that i cut out pieces of paper, which i folded to make two pages. at the start of each month
here is a quick video of a flip through for you:
and here are some still shots
i hope you have stopped by Eileen’s blog (http://www NULL.eileenhull NULL.com)and checked out the links to the other inspiration team’s projects!! there are some mighty fine ones there each week for you to take a boo at!
today i am here to share with you another one of my projects for this release… this one i used felt as well. i am absolutely loving creating with it.. i need to source myself some more!
i hand stitched these stitchy flowers and leaf (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661903/sizzix-thinlits-die-set-13pk-stitchy-flowers-leaf)to the front to the art journal (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/661906/sizzix-scoreboards-xl-die-journal) using some antique thread. i also added a bit of cheese cloth to the centre button
on the front of the journal, after die cutting the ‘you are my sunshine’ onto a piece of scrap paper i decided i wanted it outlined on my journal and then decided that i liked the idea of stitching….. it is funny how things change when we are creating isn’t it!! what we think we want takes all kinds of turns until it is finished. that is the part of the process i like! when it came time to bind my journal i decided to try using some wire and my twist and style tool!! this makes creating wire bits so easy!!!! i absolutely love these flowers die-cut from felt!!! the ink in the background gives my stitching the depth i loved!
to hid the stitching i die cut another journal cover, covered it with some creative tape and then pressed my felt cover to the front!
and then all that was left to do was to add some papers inside and then that quick and easy i have a journal that will possible hold positive quotes i come across through out my day, month year….
what have you been creating lately! if it is using one of Eileen’s dies (http://www NULL.sizzix NULL.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=eileen+hull&p=1) we would love to see it. share it with us on Eileen’s Facebook page (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/eileenhulldesigns/)..
speaking of sharing, i hope you have had the chance to check out what the rest of the inspiration team has been sharing with you all this month!
hello everyone!!! hasn’t this been a fun and festive month with the Eileen Hull Inspiration team creating pieces using the DCWV paper line!! I have seen so many projects that I want to recreate.. so many talented folks. I hope you have checked it out!!
for my project this month decided to create a piece to display on my desk at work, that is if it makes it into the office and off my window sill in my studio!
so i started out by cutting out 5 ATB’s using matboard (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp NULL.com/product/Sizzix-LITTLE-SIZZLES-MAT-BOARD-PACK-6x13-WHITE-656492--656492SZ?currency=USD). I love using this stuff as it makes for a solid base when creating a 3D project.
next I started cutting out using the DCWV Cranberry Christmas (http://www NULL.michaels NULL.com/dcwv-cranberry-christmas-premium-stack/10491306 NULL.html#q=cranberry+christmas&start=1)paper pack squares in various sizes. I absolutely love the richness of this paper line and the foil bits oh my!!
then the planning began and the first of three romance flowers were created. I glued the squares together for each pedal on all three sets in order to be sure there was colour from all sides!
and it was time to figure out what I wanted these blocks to say and in what order… so a bit of planning as I was laying them out….
and now I think I have it… except for a few changes…
and now here you have the completed set (and look no ink!!)
I love love love how these turned out.. and that I can arrange them in all different ways… hmmm.. I wonder if there is another word in there as well using the letters; perhaps I should add some more…
oh and I was just thinking the “LOVE” side could be displayed during February for Valentines day…yes.. these blocks will get lots of use in my home
hope you have been following along and checking out all the projects on this fun blog hop we have had with DCWV this month!
oh and that you are creating!!
