hello everyone!

today i am kicking off the month sharing with you the latest challenge from Mixed Media Monthly (https://l NULL.facebook NULL.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmixedmediamc NULL.blogspot NULL.html&h=ATNPs36fzaLmoibEicM5WrJIz-vsVJCfaVfemoixeDgUluBZHgeh1PtTrJzn3IkTO4dCXyeT91-LlR4a0bjvK2hf5w_BFvtwQQ62OuC7hoSZugbfuzrClfc2mCKY2Vm88J8yGVW1UHAiBaEtN4qg4Fyis6Xk5_SzVNbQ9iCMODFwsXbUYWh3HeBtnmVmAN4Hc2eneuu_BzLWGOS-uIN3ImgufWrLLH2SiO-j5050CK9rE1n_pEkciTtDLbjO-Dq5vrN9JnNaFOuZ_ZRqsWGVXw__8sVFNSA) and this one is all about Silhouettes!!

No automatic alt text available.and we are collaborating with Visible Images stamps.  they are a company based in the UK and their stamp and stencil designs are unique, original and different! Arty images, inspiring quotes, and brilliant backgrounds for cards, journal pages and mixed media pieces!

Visible Image

and i was so lucky to receive from them the No Space for Dreams (https://visibleimage set. i fell in love with the stamp ‘dreams’ and i wanted it as a constant reminder so decided i need to make something a little unique with it other than an art journal page.

Although these companies have provided me with some product to create this project the opinions I share are solely my own.

i made this quick and inspiring coaster simply by stamping the silhoutte using black distress paint onto a sheet of watercolour paper. once the paint was dry i used some colour burst and added a bit of colour. i love how the randomness turned out perfectly!

i then stamped the quote using embossing ink and sprinkled some antiquities weathered wood powder and heat set. i then let the whole thing sit for a day prior to glueing it down to a coaster and then covering it with Ice Resin.

and that is that! hope you have enjoyed my project and that you take the time to make one of your own and join in with us this month at Mixed Media Monthly.  be sure to include the  graphic in your blog post in order for it qualify for your chance to win this months prize sponsored by Visible Image!

until next time my friends

Eileen Hull – Halloween Basket

hello everyone!!

today I am here to show you a quick and fun way to share treats with others.. whether it is for those trick or treaters that come to your door or to sit as a surprise on someones desk at work…

so I started out gathering all the supplies I figured I might need and die cut my basket four times.. twice from mat board and twice from paper

I then painted the edges of my matboard pieces with black paint and applied glue and the precut paper

here are the inside/outside pieces all papered!

then it was jut a matter of assembling. be sure to use a strong adhesive in case your basket gets overstuffed with goodies!

here is a quick look inside

and adding a few finishes touches .. recognize the bat!  i had die cut it from last weeks project

i trimmed with ribbon around the outside of my basket along with ribbon on the handles and then it was time to add some treats!!

thanks for stopping by and i hope you have been creating!

until next time my friends,

Eileen Hull – candy canister

hello everyone!

welcome to the first of my monthly posts  for Eileen Hull (http://www NULL.eileenhull   This month the design team are sharing with you projects under the theme of either Halloween, Christmas or Autumn! my project in real life today does not look like this anymore because really the only reason for me to make a Halloween project is to have an excuse to buy candy corn…. I’m just being honest here!

keeping it real folks!!

when deciding what kind of project I wanted to create I knew I just had to use the Ravens (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp stamp set somehow for my Halloween project. (this is one of the sets i a had won during the Facebook live with Tim Holtz!!!) i had an idea using alcohol ink and what better surface than on some YUPO (https://www NULL.simonsaysstamp paper.

so I started out by  cutting out a canister from mat board. I then applied some YUPO paper to some adhesive paper, die cut a canister and then layered on top of my mat board. I then covered my canister with a few darker shades of alcohol ink along with a bit of silver

then this is where the fun part started for me. I placed my canister flat into my stamp platform and using a raven stamp and some black archival ink I stamped and stamped until I got the result I wanted

I loved the ghostly effect but I thought I might try adding some brown archival ink to see if I could add just a bit of colour

now I loved how it turned out and the ‘glow’ around the outside but in the end decided that I wanted it back to the ghostly look

then I ended up getting lost in the process. i had  die cut three bats out of one side and created a window from the ticket mover and shaker out of the other side.

I then lined the whole thing with some clear packaging because I knew I wanted to fill it with candy

and so now here you have it.. my finished canister filled (or was filled) with some halloween treats!

thanks for stopping by and until next time,

Some of the products used in this project have been provided to me by Eileen Hull and Sizzix however  the opinions I share here are solely my own

mixed media challenge #41 – colour

hello everyone!!

can you believe yet another month has gone by and we are presenting you with yet a new challenge at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge … this one is all about colour

No automatic alt text available.

as well, we have partnered up with Rubber  Dance Stamps.

Original original new banner  Rubber Dance offers a unique line of Red Rubber Stamps, UN-mounted, without cling cushion!. they are lovingly made in Norway and they are shipped world wide.

now for my project i was sent the quirky Funny Fungi!!! (http://www NULL.rubberdance

here is what i created and how i created it!

i started out using some paint on a 8″ round Gel Press reusable gel printing plate. i just dabbed paints here and there

and using my brayer, spread the paint until i had  covered the circle and then laid my sheet of paper over, pressed and pulled. i also mixed some paints to the side on my craft sheet, brayered and pull…and just kept adding until i was satisfied.

i then added in some stencils and i am sorry to say but by this point i was so lost in the process i forgot to take pictures but here is where i was after the first couple of stencils on a second sheet i created at the same time

so once i had created my back ground circle it was time to focus on my stamp! i dug out some distress markers and just coloured

once i was finished coloured i had a bright idea so out came some more makers, my ruler and archival ink

i cut the little mushroom out from the center of the stamp and then stamped and coloured round the whole circle!

as i was creating my piece i couldn’t help but think how we are all so very different in this world; whether we are people, flowers, trees or mushrooms… we are all our own kind of beauty so that is where my quote came from that i printed out and added to my page

that is it for me for today! do drop on over to the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge (https://mixedmediamc NULL.blogspot page to see what my fellow teamies have come up with and play along!

until next time

my hundred days project

hello everyone!!

if you follow me on instagram you will have seen that I decided to tackle the 100 day project and do journal pages….. probably wasn’t the smartest decision I made to add that challenge in the final stages of marathon training (more coming on that in a few days!)

but I wanted to take a quick minute and share with you that I have managed to get a few of those pages completed… and I will get back to finishing up the rest of my book before too long.. *I hope*

here are the first months worth

I told you it would be a quick post.. but lots of pretty pictures to look at!!

hope you have been creating and I hope to get back to the regularly scheduled programing of a page a day soon!
