lately i am really into my Dylusions products and love adding them to everything. so this week i chose to base my tag off the quote from one her stamp sets. at first i stamped the quote onto a black ATC with versamark and then sprinkled white embossing power, heat set and tada!!
then it was onto deciding what i was going to use the shattered stains technique on and it just came naturally to me to use the dress form.. and in my eyes what goes best with that but the bird cage!!!
now i have used the two together, lots, in the past but i have never done or recall seeing the mini skirt!! and i didn’t want it to be any mini skirt but one worthy of wings!! so out came the tissue tape. for my wings i coated them first with picket fence distress stain, then picket fence crackle paint and since the distress stain wasn’t quite dry when i heat set the crackle paint some lifted and i really really liked that.. kind of featherish like!! so i then dug out my glue n seal gloss and layered a coat on top of the wings and set them aside to dry.
i knew the outside of the tag needed something but wasn’t quite sure what. so i took out my watermark ink pad, some more dylusions and stamped. i then traced it with a white out pen! love it!!. i really really love how the dress turned out… it is so darn cute and kind of sort of steampunkish no?

I love your ‘mini skirt’ with the bird cage- so cute! And the wings look just lovely… I love how the picket fence looks with this technique, it’s completely different! I should pull it out again sometime. Great tag!
