Grunge Monday 03

so this week over at Grunge Monday we were challenged by Guest Star Designers Hels Sheridan and Kate Taylor to us one of Tim’s techniques using Rangers Adirondack color wash. Now that posed a bit of a problem for me because the only ones i have on hand is the Expresso and Sunset so i put on my thinking cap. I didn’t really wanted to do a pumpkin scene/fall scene and that is sort of what the two colours said to me. But wait why not a sunset sort of kind of.

so i sprayed my tag with the sunset and then embossed it with Tim’s forest embossing folder through the sizzix. Now how to colour it. i sprayed some expresso onto my craft mat and took out my paint brush thinking i would paint the trunks of the trees and maybe a road way. then i added a bit of kiwi perfect pearls mix to add a smidge of green and painted the trees. now my mat was full of all this spray so i though i would use it on the back of the tag ( I do hate to waste) but then wait a minute.. i really like that. So i did the natural thing and added a bit more Color Wash and look what i came up with. i haven’t quite decided which one i want to do. i thought about the dark one and add Happy Fathers Day but then the sunset one would make a nice summer birthday card.. decisions, decisions

til next time…

HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!

Tough choice – I like both! Got that embossing folder so will have to file this idea for later!!

Diana, you took those two shades of Color Wash and used the brilliantly! I love that you made a two-sided tag, and the soft, watercolor look you achieved on both sides is truly gorgeous! Very clever approach the the GM03 Challenge, and whether you use this for Fathers Day or a birthday, it will no doubt be treasured! Thanks so much for joining the Grungy Monday challenge!
