so i have tried many times to make a piece of jewellery to wear. i wanted a long chain but alas i didn’t have one so thought hey just make one.
so attempted.. and failed.. and attempted and failed. how was i to know that UTEE wouldn’t stick to the bottom of the broach thingy!
then i remembered the tim holtz ideology bird cage i had purchased a while ago.. (remember once again my word.. less.. less hoarding stuff, more using)
well i dug out the cage and well the cage needs a bird. but before i do the bird, i eyed the enameled foliage techniques from Tammy Tutterow though instead of putting them in the melt pot (as it contained the UTEE from the failed project) i dipped them in the embossing ink and then sprinkled on the powder like Tammy suggested. hmmm.. it is my bird cage and i can put what ever i want in it right.. so i attached the flowers
then out came the bird and the shrink plastic from Ranger and the bird cage die. i shrunk the bird and her wing of course and then coated them both with a bit of alcohol ink.
so.. what next.
i could put in some moss or such or a branch but really not what i was going for..then i got to thinking as i was looking through my dies.. i wonder?? could i make a pine cone out of shrink plastic… well sure enough one can!! now is it perfectly formed and all nicely bent in places it should be…no.. but my bird sits on it just fine. it is a technique that i will for sure play with again another day!
so here is my birdcage. i hope you like it!!
i attached it to some ball chain and i am thinking i will still need to add a little somethin’ somethin’ just haven’t figured out what yet
til next time…
HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!

Lovely!
What fun! I just got one of those birdcages and love the flat backing. I love how you’ve filled yours.
