and we are off again!!
tim is continuing the 12 tags of 2014 and i have to say this months tag is by far one of my all time favourite ever that he has created. i absolutely love everything about it..everything
so here is my interpretation of his tag.
i started off with what i thought i would most likely be using in the creation:
the first step was applying the sticky back foil to grungeboard and smoothing it out and then running the picture wheel through the vagabond
i knew i wanted to cut the centre out but wasn’t sure how to do it with out the circle movers and shakers but remembered one of my first ever die purchases eons ago was the multi circle.. so i first cut out the whole die using just paper, marked the centre on my circle and then placed the reel on top..i hope that makes sense:
now it was time to work on my tag was next. i used distress stain for the tag, squirt it with water to blend and then used one of tim’s stencils and black and vintage photo distress inks and inked through the tag with a blending tool
now i had out some phoomp as you can see in the first picture. my plan was to use this on the inside of the art part from Wendy Vecchi but once i ran it through the vagabond it squished it to paper thin so instead i just wrapped it around the original art part centre. so now it was just a matter of applying and then drying paint before sanding the pieces.
next i applied a rub on onto a fragment, applied white paint to the bottom and covered the top, decal, with glossy accents.
now it was just a matter of putting it all together. i had covered my art part with black paint and sanded it up prior to inserting the centre.
i followed suit but not as finicky as tim and placed a rub on in the centre of one of the charms but before attaching it all together with glossy accents i layer a piece of frosted film over it.
now on to the finished tag. i added rub ons and film to the background prior to assembling my picture wheel, my clock key, my art parts, alpha tiles and such. i felt the corner was missing something so i filled on of tim’s mini vials with clear rock candy dry glitter to represent the ‘glass’ in the movie showing FRAGILE GLASS
i hope you have enjoyed my tutorial. here is my finished tag for January.
i love how the wheel reel came out! i am thinking i may have to try this again!!!
