i was so excited to get into the craft room friday night.. it seems it has been forever since i was in there
but then again it is the first of the month and that of course means it was time for the Tim’s Twelve Tags of 2013 monthly challenge. so of course i was off and running!!
so i did start by taking pictures of the process.. the rub ons,
the sanding of the edges, the applying of the distress stain and the stamping
and then really didn’t like how it was turning out so i started another tag of which of course i didn’t take pictures of !! but i basically started with my mop up tag that i had created with the left over ink that was on the craft mat from the above tag.. the only pictures that i do have are of the snapshots i took attempting to make the hole bigger on the enameled tag in order to be able to use the hitch fastener! that little piece of heavenly metal, the drill punch, is truly a cool tool to have around!!
and another picture is of my first time play creating using crinkle ribbon.. i love that stuff though i think i require a bit more practise on how to match it to my tag…
if i had remembered to take pictures you would have seen that my mop up tag at first glance reminded me of a tree in the middle of a field so i added some ‘wild life’ type of rubons on top of the ink and then i the stamped one of my all time favourite quotes onto my tag, added some tissue tape which i outlined with my faber castell pitt pen. i was loving how it was turning out. oh and speaking of my pens, when i added the tissue tape some of the stamp and rub ons were covered. no problem.. just recreate them with your pen!! looks like then it is on top.. know what i mean! the splotches of white are from me shaking my pearl alcohol ink with the cover off.. a happy accident if i do say so myself!

besides linking up this tag to Tim’s May tags challenge, i am also linking to Simon Says Stamp & Show passport to fun challenge. and to inspiration emporium’s ‘don’t quote me’ challenge. the quote on this tag is so very true on how i like to thing of travel. everything is an adventure, the every day life, the going and seeing new places, meeting new people, experiencing everything; the journey truly is what life is all about no?
i will so try harder next time to do the step by steps pictures but sometimes it is just hard once i start my journey and my soul just takes over!!

Diana…This is simply elegant! I really love love this tag! The background is gorgeous. It turned out to be just a little more than a “mop up tag”, huh? haha I really like your black stamping and the gold highlighting. I love your tag. Your comment about the crinkle ribbon made me laugh because mine never turns out the same colours as my tag either! Love it all the same though.
