Remembrance Day

hello everyone!! today I am here to share with you a simple little project I created for the Emerald Creek Dares challenge!

Remembrance Day is a day to honour and remember all those who were affected, injured, or gave their lives in service to their country.

there is nothing more symbolic then the poppy & Flanders Field so for my project for this Emerald Creek challenge i wanted to do a simple, meaningful project.

i started with a sheet of this cardstock which i stamped a script using watermark and once dry i inked the sheet with distress inks.

EC cardstock

i then cut it to size to fit inside one of the letter tray boxes which i attached to the back of the frame using tissue tape

i then created a poppy using this flower die byEileen Hulls for Sizzix

i then applied a lot of distress sprays to the flower. once it was dry i embossed it using this doily texture fade and then shaped it into a poppy!

love how it turned out.

i then took one of the Emerald Creek Anchor Charms, which i had ordered in error but figured i would use some day, and turned it into a mini cross of sorts!!!

so here is my final project…. simple and meaningful… a reminder to always remember what has been sacrificed for our freedom

What a gorgeous display & frame to showcase In Flanders Fields.
I love how you created your poppy! The embossing folder gave it just the right amount of texture.
