art calendar – february

i can’t believe i forgot to post a picture of my february calendar. i have already started to fill it so my apologies for the scribbles. but as you can see i do actually write something in each day

as this is my second year i wanted to mix up the colouring of pages as i go throughout the year…last year was a mainly pink page for valentines and all. this year i focused more on purple as the stone of the month is amethyst and 3 of us are born in February.

the products used on this page are the stencils of the month from Stencil Girl Products in November. still my favourite set yet though the January peacock is slowly becoming another one of my favourites! I used Wendy Vecchi’s white embossing paste through the stencil and then allowed it to dry. i love the sponginess (if that is even a word!) of her embossing paste!

but prior to layering the stencil/embossing powder combo i sprayed my background pages with art anthology sprays and once i laid down my ‘days’ i sprayed again to take away the whiteness of the rectangles.

as a final step for my page i had doodled around all parts using my signo uniball pen. i love this pen and am now in search for a few LOT more so i can share with my students in class!
