Mixed Media Monthly – paint your truth

hello everyone!!

I can’t believe this is going to be my last post for this team. I have so enjoyed being inspired by all these great ladies and by meeting all the new folks out there that I otherwise probably wouldn’t have.

so for my final post I decided that I needed to create a little piece for myself to  continue my freedom of inspiration and using the Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal from Book Club 2 I created this:

basically I started out by using some of my newly acquired colorbox blends and just kept adding patches of colour to the matboard. once covered I just kept layering with more paint, stencils and some stamping with some archival ink

next I added some of the same paints onto my mat and then dabbed some paper into it.

I wanted to create some covers to go with the signatures I had made and stamped through out (who likes starting with a blank page after all right!!)

for the closure I had added an elastic cord through a button and then glued/taped/stuck that cord in behind the front piece so one can just slip it on and off at will
